Grapple hook onto your buddys pteranodon and follow it around. Leave yourself enough slack as not to shoot your friends bird, and tranq it up. Bonus points if you can steer it into a wall or pillar so it gets stuck.

Dont get ur quetz killed when its sitting in ur pen 10 pillars off the ground with 17 rexes on neutral next to it if ur doing the quetz trap

If u find an egg pick it up the quetzals will come to u, note , have a ballista

These things are extremely hard to tame. A buddy of mine and I took to the skies and unloaded on it ( I held him with a pteredon while he shoot it with tranq darts.) We nailed about 50 tranqs into him, and repeadtly got him to the point of running away, but we could never knock him out.

My first Quetz was a 150 one jumped with my buddy on a Tapejara and started shooting the f***er til it got stuck onto a cliff..it took about 20 min to tranq it though and a lots of time to tame

If you don't have one already. And have not yet heard. Have a friend carry you steady. To tranq the big bird.

My friend carries me with his pteranodon and I shoot it with tranquilizer darts lol.

Use grappling hooks to hook your pteranodon and whistle it to attack a quetz and then frank the quetz of the tamed bird is fats enough it works but if it's to strong it can kill the quetz

A solo tame is pretty easy actually. It works best if you have a longneck rifle (for tranq darts) and a crossbow (grappling hook). Grapple to a pteradon or argentavis (I used a pteradon and it worked fine) and set it to attack my target while aiming at the quetzel. Once it gets close enough set it to passive and shoot for the head. Repeat until knocked out and make sure you keep it alive and not in danger of being killed my random carnivores.

Whatever you do DO NOT Knock out near or in redwoods mine got eaten by sabers

Use a tapeJara have two people tranq it while you fly the tape

On the center map, when the Quetzal is hit enough times it will ALWAYS eventually fly in-between the two mountains at coordinates 30 55 where you can set up a chain bola catcher thing or something. With an argy, hold a diplocaulus of something that isn't very strong to hit the Quetzal to this area so it doesn't die. Good luck.

You just need 2 Friends with a ptero each; mate1 have to grab you, mate2 have to Fly under it and then bug the quetz circa at his Chest zone. Shoot w/ Longneck, put some Narcos in and that's it. Quetz Done!

People are making it to hard simply kill it get the speciment chip and revive it make sure it personal built and make a little house while it is in sode and then just traq it, it is also safe cause it is in a house so you dont have to worry about other animals/ dinos attacking it. Easy way to solo tame

Ride a griffin and shoot it in the head

These are incredibly hard to tame I once got a level 150 tape jar and I tried solo taming it and I got it knocked out and then 3 terror birds were there waiting and killed it

You can tame it grappled to a argy, prefer it since u have more freedom than when passenger sitting on a Tapejara. Always bring more tranqs than what Dododex says. Don’t forget to make a parachute just Incase anything bad happens. Learned that the hard way when I forgot to reload the grapple to the crossbow n died

For taming in the air using a trap on a tame quetz: feed your tame quetz stimberries to regenerate stamina. But make sure your tame quetz has plenty of food.

To get a starter Quetzal, set up three behemoth gates front to back with a bit of space between them. Give the one in the front and the one in the back doors and keep on of them closed. Find a Quetzal and eat a rare flower to get it to aggro on you and run into the gates. It should fly in and get stuck. Then close the open gate and knock it out.

If the quetzal flies into the redwoods, don’t give up on it. Fly above the trees and shoot the quetzal, try to scare it out if you can.
