now, I have seen and read about many ways on taming a quetzal. I am trying to create a compacted tip which shows all of them (or as many as I can remember). since the tips will most likely get very long, I will write down a summary of the tips ingredient requirements, and you can skip to whichever tip you think suits you best:

1) -any k.o weapon which is as good as a crossbow, or better

a parachute

-a structure 3x3x3 in length, with a roof, foundation and walls on only three sides

-any safe area of your choosing

-3 walls

NOTE: this only works with female quetzals

2) -any k.o weapon which is as good as or better than a crossbow

-a tamed pteranodon or tapejara or quetzal

-a revival platform

-construction materials (foundation-walls-roof)

-20 to 40 ancient amber

NOTE: this method is probably the easiest, if you have a lot of patience

3)-any k.o weapon which is as good as or better than a crossbow

-a tapejara or argentavis

-crossbow with grappling hook (only needed for the argentavis method)

-parachute(only needed for the argentavis method)

These are the four methods:

THE FIRST METHOD:

preparation

0. create a 3x3x3 structure (the stronger the better) with foundations, walls and a roof. a 3x3 opening on one of the sides, and a doorframe on the opposite side. make sure your structure is in a safe place

1. find a female quetzal

2. wait for it to lay an egg. don’t let it out of sight.

3. once it lays the egg, pick it up. if it glitches, and does not fall to the ground, fly above the egg, and dismount your flier. it’s the parachute to slow your fall. when the egg comes into range, take it.

4. the quetzal will now aggro onto you. mount your flier again

5. lead the quetzal to your structure, but before entering, dismount the flier. the quetzal should ignore it

the quetzal will try to get in the structure, but it might not manage. It may take a few attempts to get the angle right.

6. when it is inside the box, place one wall in the 3x3 gap. the quetzal will now be trapped. if your structure is made of wood or weaker, you might want to go around the outside of the cage and place the remaining walls in the 3x3 gap

7. NOTE: if your structure is weaker than stone, skip this step.

with the creature now revived, it will be stuck inside the cage. use a bed to skip 7 hours, then return to the cage.

8. if the quetzals head is showing outside the cage, you do not need to go in, you can tranq it from the outside. just make sure to aim for the beak or head. this will make the torpidity go up quicker. do not use tames to knock it out

9. you should be able to k.o it easily, now you can put any type of meat to tame it. If you skipped step 7, you may need to use narcotics.

THE SECOND METHOD:

1. find quetzal

2. using your flier, kill the quetzal. be careful not to harvest the body, or allow other scavengers to take it

3. open the dead quetzals inventory, and take its creature implant. this cannot be taken from an item cache, only from the body itself.

4. the implant will specify the ancient amber cost needed to resurrect it. you need find the amount of amber specified (open rare supply drops)

5. once you have the amber, place the revival platform in a safe area (it can be as far as you want from the place where you found there quetzal)

6. build a perimeter of foundations around the revival platform. make sure there are no gaps around the perimeter

7. build walls on top of the foundation perimeter. this should be 3 walls high. feel free to put a doorframe. (doors are not necessary)

8. finish by adding a roof to your shape. you should be left with a cage of sorts, covering the revival platform

9. open the inventory, and put the creature implant inside, next press (or click) the button revive.

10. with the creature now revived, it will be stuck inside the cage. use a bed to skip 7 hours, then return to the cage.

11. if the quetzals head is showing outside the cage, you do not need to go in, you can tranq it from the outside. just make sure to aim for the beak or head. this will make the torpidity go up quicker. If you are using a tame to knock it out, like the pulmonoscorpius, you may want to do that from inside the cage.

12. you should be able to k.o it easily, now you can put any type of meat to tame it. since it is food bar is depleted, it will eat all the meat without the cool-down time, which means you don’t need narcotics.

THE THIRD METHOD:

1. find quetzal

2. NOTE: skip to step 5 if you are using the tapejara

jump of your flier, then use your parachute to slow your fall

3. grapple onto your flyer

4. keep the parachute, you will need it for later

5. if you are using a tapejara, switch to use the second seat. whistle attack target (the target being the quetzal)

6. use your k.o weapon as much as you can until your flier gets to close to the quetzal, then whistle passive. repeat step 5 until the quetzal is unconscious. feed it any meat to tame

1. get a flying tame

2. get a grappling thing

3. whistle attack (recommended argy)

4. since argys are slow it won't catch up in time

5. tranq it till it goes to sleep

6. put taming food in the quetzals inventory

7. you got yourself a Quetzal!

Simplest way to tame on Mobile.

Items Needed: a Pteranodon/flying tame, Tranqs, a Crossbow, Grapples, and a Parachute or 2.

Method:

1. Find Quetzal

2. Fly up to Quetzal

3.Dismount

4. Grapple onto Quetzal (I have checked, it will not aggro to this)

5. Start Shooting

6. Pull Parachute when falling

7. Enjoy Your Quetzal Kibble

Things you need tapejara no specific level, spy glass, crossbow or longneck rifle, tranq arrows or tranq dart, soothing balm (mobile), tex kibble, and op tame.

Step 1 Find the quetzal and manual save.

Step 2: Get your taming supplies and return to the quetzal on your tapejara.

Step 3: Get close to the quetzal and ride on the passenger seat of your tapejara. Note: tapejaras don’t loose stamina if you are on the passenger seat

Step 4: Use your spyglass and zoom in and whistle attack target.

Step 5: Pull out your tranq weapon and start shooting until it is knocked out.

Step 6: Request your op tame that has nothing of value in it’s inventory.

Step 7: Remote use soothing balm and put the kibble in its inventory.

Step 8: Patiently wait and scout with your tame for any dangerous creatures around the area and protect the quetz.

Step 9: Equip the saddle and enjoy your new quetz.

Even easier way to tame, Build a structure trap at an obelisk, kill one however you can and grab its implant (I used Taperjara and assault rifle), resurrect inside trap and knock out (i used 10 darts), then tame, no carnivores to give any hassles or kill it,

If only taming it was this easy

I highly recommend using tapejara not argy using argy to tame is for sweats tapejara is needed if you don't want to go splat

All you need is a GRIFFIN and you can tranq it from there best way to do it

You and your buddy Get a argy one person fly the argy pick up your buddy that has trank darts or something to knock It out shoot it tell I starts to fly away pick your buddy fly after it if your bird is fast enough til it knocks out put food in its inventory til it is tamed hope this helps (up. if. it. d.o.e.s.) sorry the app said I asked for up. v.o.t.e.s.

What I always found easy is to just dismount my wyverns in the air so I'm standing on its neck and just whistle my wyverns towards the quetz as I shoot tranq darts. Super easy imo. Btw wont work with Crystal wyverns theu tend to land when you dismount mid air and since they are smaller its easier to fall off.

You can guide Quetzals to where you want them to go by throwing honey. Lure one to a big stone trap to protect it while taming. Much easier than using a Tapajera or grappling.

Go to Max height with a PT jump off and parachute and keep on shooting until the quetzal down

Kill a low level quetz,revive the quetz,tame it,

unlock its platform saddle,tame a high level quetz

If you can

Just use a griffin

Its the easiest way in my opinion othet than traps

Add about 50 narcotics or your bird will enjoy his expensive dinner and fly away.

I managed to tame one of these using pteranodon and sinomacrops (quetzal lvl 25).

Ptera to catch up with the quetz, then jump and fly using sinomacrops while shooting tranqs at the big fella. Do so over and over until it gets knocked out.

To tame get a wyvern find a quetzal them dismount the wyvern and since you stay on the wyvern when you dismount you can shoot it with with darts or arrows and there’s your quetzal. please 👍🏻if helpful so other people can see :D and credits to my friend for telling me this.

Heres how to tame these guys if ur on mobile and have no griffin or tapejara

1st:Ride a pterasaur like a ptera if u dont have tape or griffin

2nd Quetzals are uncommon in the red ob go in the red ob then go to the small mountan in ur left and

3rd When u find one K1!!I 1T And get its implant and revive it in a revival platform if u have one male sure it has a very steep roof ontop of the quetz

4rth revive and shoot it with darts/tranqs

5thsooth it with soothing balm 10x or 15x if u have one but if u dont have one you can use prime meat

The most easiest way to tame a Quetzal is using a harpoon net. As soon as the Quetzal hits the ground; just use dino gates to immobilize it when it gets out if the net.
