If your tamed Quetzal ever happens to fly randomly tho u whistle “stop”

Just mount it and stop it manually

Or while it try to “escape” just whistle “stop one” once again

I am so mad I had made kibble and got narcotics and saw a black quetzal and I tried have my tapejara follow it and it would not follow I had her on you target and she would not budge then I just tried shooting it and then try and chase it down but it would just take to long can anyone tell me why my tapejara won’t follow the quetzal?

Theres a really low chance to get a journeyman quetz platform saddle from the Artifact of the Strong red loot crate on the of the cliffs

PS: that makes the taming part soooo much easier

So i saw this guy again and managed to knock it down but it landed on the ocean so i hurriedly tried to spawn my equus, buuut i noticed it a tad bit too late that there were 3 rex eating 3 brontos right next to it, and the rex turned its attention to the quetzal and ate it....

i canceled my equus and called my theriz and massacred the rex and brontos.

god i hate ark.

The easiest way to tame a Quetzin Ark(mobile), find a flat area and place a revive platform and build walls 4 high around and cover it with roofs, preferably somewhere near your base. Go to the red obi there are 2 spawns there sometimes you’ll only find 1. One spawns on the mini islands and one near the obi. Kill the low level ones and MAKE sure to eat it so new ones would spawn after fly 450m+ and keep checking the same spots. Keep doing that till you find a good level kill it and grab the implant. Go to your revive cage and revive it there, note it’s going to cost 35 amber but trust me it’s totally worth it. Rather then it getting unconscious and having a chance for a braindead dinosaur to hit it and loose the level gains, you’ll secure yourself a perfect quetz. Good luck 😉

Platform saddle put a chain bola launcher 2 beds and cryofridge full of pods have your mate hop on the bola launcher ride the quetz into grasslands and you have a moving efficient rex taming vehicle p.s. sub out chain bola launcher for generator and auto turrets to have a moving death machine

My friend and I went to tame one of these suckers and we were on a pteranodon the pteranodon only fell asleep once. But remember just be consistent even with tranq arrows on a journeymen crossbow and over 100 arrows.

A fun way that I found to tame one of these:

What you need:

* an argy or PT

* some parachutes

*harpoon gun (w/net Projectile)

*tranq darts/shocking tranqs

Since these guys don't like to land, I found this strategy to be pretty affective for taming. I guess you could also wait for the quetzal to get a little too close to land, but that could take a while. Just find a quetzal, then fly a little bit over it with your flyer. (Make sure your flyer is set to follow you so it's not stuck high up in the air if you miss the first time.) Then you jump off your flyer, use a parachute to get closer, and then hit the quetzal with the net projectile. In my experience, the quetzal shouldn't take fall damage from the fall. Then all you have to do is float down to where it fell, tranq it out and tame! Easy as pie.

first TAME griffin or tapejara and tame low level quetzal and second if you tame quetzal buy in store saddle and buy saddle platform or if you have it and you have and build in trap to the platform fly it trap it the quetzal in the trap platform saddle

You can grapple hook them but once you shoot them it makes you ungrapple

These guys like to dissapear randomly so keep it in sight at all times!

Why nobody is talking about using a dodo arrow on it(idk what that mean, the dino aggro you? Sorry if im wrong) and make him follow you to a safe area or a trap? Oof

Stop wasting your time trying to chase these guys with your longneck you will never catch them. The easiest way to tame the king of the air 👑 is to fly close to them using a PT or RG then dismount and use a Sinomacrops to land on there back. Once on their back, aim for their eye and unload your darts (or arrows) into their regal face. Make sure they are not above water when you knock them out. (Trust me I've done it multiple times. 😭) Congrats you can now take your first (or second?) Quets.

I tried on tame one but I can’t find one so 10 minutes later I found one but then I put a net on it and it fell down right next to a Rex and the Rex Ate it.

How to tame a LOW LEVEL Quetzal:

1:Kill a quetzal

2:get it’s implant

3 revive them in a closed space

4 :knock it out

5: put food and narcotics or biotoxins

6: wait

7:wait more(feed it a narcotic or a biotoxin every minute)

8: you have a quetzal!

People really aren’t being precise with their location, they aren’t as high up as people say they are. Wander around the map, it should be flying about 30 ft above the tree line. If not then look up and around which you should be doing already lol.

I swear when ever I would knock one of these guys out if would always find a way to commit suicide from getting knocked out in the middle of the swamp to drowning in the most tiny puddle I ever seen. I cried because this game just does not want me to have a quetzal

On rag, use a griffin and tranq darts... you can shoot from the back of the griffin while flying.... Just watch where the Quetzal lands and be prepared to kill the wild dinos round it when it does fall, like so people can see.
