If you have a Quetz, a 4x4 base/ceiling square with 4 stone dino gates & 1 pillar with ceilings to make a roof over the gates is an excellent trap. Fly so the wild Quetz is between the four doors then jump off and tranq. Just dont move again or it'll fall to the ground.

When tranqing, they will head to the center of the map unless you get in front of them.

If you already have a quetz you can build a Contraption on the back of the quetz platform saddle. If you do not have a quest already and easy it is to use the tapejara, other than that use a ptera or a argy and follow it everywhere and tranq it down make sure you have spikes and narcotics ready, fast torpor!

Use another quetz and make a trap on a platform saddle make sure the opening is 3x3

If you're doing it solo get a paracetamol with a platform saddle. Then have a balista with at least 10 chain bolas so if you miss you have extras. Final note don't lose it!!! Keep an eye on where it crashes down.

They offen fly into the pillars on the center map a solo tamer can use this to prevent it from escaping by luring it to a pillar and using the parashoot method can tame more easily.

For taming your first quetz your going to need a fast high stamina pteradon or argentavis. One person flies while one person shoots. Once you've knocked it out tame it with whatever your using to tame it. An easier way is to have an existing quetzal with a platform saddle. You build a quetzal trap on the platform (look it up on YouTube if you don't know how). You trap the quetzal, putting walls behind it so it doesn't escape. You knock it out and tame it. This way is easier and safer, since your taming the quetzal on your quetzals back in the sky. And when you try to knock it out it doesn't run away

Besides using a tapejara, you could use a quetz catcher. You can google this for photos. Basically, if you have a quetz, or someone you know does, you can build a catcher on the back (thatch is fine). After "catching" (making it fly into the catcher) the quetz, jump off the quetz onto the platform saddle and add some walls in the open spaces (where it flew into). Then, you can shoot it with darts or arrows till it's down. Or, you can have a friend shoot at it from another bird/platform.

First if possible have someone on a server who already has a Quetzal(and a platform saddle) that will be willing to help you by building a box shape on the platform leaving the back open, next fly in front of the Quetzal having it fly into the box then put the back walls on completing the box and making it so the Quetzal is trapped, after that fly closer to the ground in a safer area and proceed to knock it out after it unconscious take the back walls off and have the person with the starting Quetzal fly forward let the Quetz to fall onto the ground so you can begin taming!

For the person who gave their Quetz potent dust.

Potent dust does had low chance to cause someone or a Dino to get knocked out, which the thing happened to me when I'm painting my beaver white then it just fainted and fell down the cliff.

So whoever consumes potent dust for levels or painting their Dino's, look out.

Bring stimulants before you eat sand, just in case. It's not coarse, it's not rough, and it's not irritating - but it does clog up your nose, 'addictive', get you high enough to the point of fainting, because Rockwell said to consume the dust is to inhale it.

This isn't my tip, I havent even tamed one of these things yet. But my friend told me, use a dodo arrow, while someone with a griff or quetz with platform saddle brings you up to a wild quetz, hit it with the arrow, land, and proceed to knock it out. Dodo arrows aggro passive creatures.

Just get a revive platform make a trap around it muder the querzal take its implant go to the platform with your trap then find out you don't have enough amber

The last time I tried to get quetzal I accidentally deleted my ark survival evolved then I had to redownload it then well I lost all my work and my question Rex's and literally everything around if you have a phone tablet or computer that you're playing ark survival evolved on make sure to lock it to your brother doesn't get into it

Just use console cheats and fly to the quetzal and trank it till it's down it's ez as that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm pretty sure you can bait it to come down with honey and then you can just net it or trap it with dino gates and then get to taming it but be careful because other creatures will also get attracted so be sure to bring a decent amount of honey with you.

You can grapple onto them making it much easier

Kill it- take it’s implant. Use revival platform and bola it once revived. Tranq it.

Get a friend pick em up with either and ergy or a petrodon with rly good steam and get to to shoot it in the head you could also try and see if they can jump onto its back and shoot it in the back of the head till it gets knocked out

I’m submitting this for the mobile players as soon as you reach lv 70 and complete the kill argentavis pursit build a revival platform and put a roof on to the revive platform. the quetzal you kill you will farm Amber to revive by date and time the you can finish the job with tranq arrows or tranq darts then tame with red kibble from the food work shop
