Very easy to tame if you can get yourself a griffin

While I’ve never managed to tame one personally despite my efforts, I think I have a general idea of how these guys are tamed. The Quetzal taming process is divided into sections called “Stages”. I am doing this to make it easier to understand.

Stage 1: “The Prep Period”

As it’s name suggests, during Stage 1 you will be making preparations for the initial taming procedure. These preparations are no easy feat, so be careful. You will want to do the following:

-Gather biotoxin to keep the Quetzal asleep (ideally with a Spino for melee damage and for luring Cnidaria to shore easily)

-Gather meat (and prime meat, if possible) for the actual taming procedure.

-Ensure you have tranq darts and their respective weapon (Longneck Rifle I think? Correct me if I’m wrong). If you do not

Taming:

Get any level of lymantria (saddle not needed)

Whistle the lil limmy in the air and grapple it

Whistle it aggressive on the quetzal (they don’t do damage, and their moth poison slows the quetzal down significantly)

Tranq out the quetzal

Put spikes round it and give it its kibble mutton or prime

Enjoy your new skybase (level weight stamina and health)

Y’all saying that the quetzal is slow but mine had like a 160% speed and was able to out fly a tapejara and someone said that they’re faster on mobile so that kinda explains why, now my quetzal has 203% speed with a scarf giving 20% more speed making it 243% speed😏

You can tame by yourself on griffin.

Once I was looking for a uni, then I did the tidy save. I went to red ob and found a really low lvl. Didn't kill it as I was going to tame it. Got my tranq darts and it vanished. Went looking again, found one on argy mountain. Found another near the green ob and when I was still a noob I found one that was actually LANDED in the green ob area. There is a glitch that can have a quetzle land without it being tamed. And I know it was wild because I was playing single player.

I don’t know why they say it’s hard I killed my (on accident) and then used a reviving platform with a thach structure around it and had it enclosed on top and then Knocked it out and tamed it

Okay so if you see that they spawn near the obelisk don’t get me wrong but that’s not the only place the other place is in the mountain near the redwoods. I have 5 now since that I started doing that. It became so much easier I have 3 griffins, 5 quetzals, 2 mosasaurus, and 1 plesiosaur I used to have 3 gigas but I killed them. Also one last thing, make shocking tranq darts it’s much easier with a griffin.

Just find a quez at red obelisk 🔺

Have about 25-30 amber🔸

Build an 8’8 box 📦

Revive it 😇

Knock it out 💤

Use Rex kibble or exceptional kibble or prime meat 🥩

1. Find a quetzal then jump of your tame and grapel your tame

2. Set your tame to passive

3.whisle your tame to attack my target

4. Then you use your trangs

1. Find a quetzal on a flyer

2. Chase and kill

3. Wait for it to drop to the floor and retrieve it’s implant

4. Enter to revival platform

You now have yourself a quetzal

Simply tell a wyvern to follow you ride on it the shoot it from its back then when it lands kill all carnivores in the area and I'm mean all! Then if you want to be extra safe build some spikes around it.

For all of the mobile players that are saying “just kill it and respawn it in a trap,” you don’t freaking need to say it! Everybody knows that. We only needed one of those tips, not 1000. People can just stop sending those. No offense to you guys, it’s just annoying that half of my tips are just the same one over and over again.

I play on ark mobile and recently tamed up a Tapejara. You can switch seats while flying on mobile, so I used this strategy to ko the quetzal I wanted. I activated the Pursuit Tame: Quetzal, cooked up 30 Rex kibble and grabbed 200 narcotics to be safe, grabbed my ascendant longneck with tranq darts and hopped on my Tapejara that I have named Baby Quetzal. Once I found the Quetz, I put the Tapejara on follow so it didn’t land, switched to the front seat, whistled attack target on the Quetz and started shooting. In 5 shots she was down and I just took control of my Tapejara, landed, let it starve out and then shoved the kibble down its throat. The pursuit gives your tame enough exp for 40 levels. I promptly took him home and named him Daddy Tapejara. Happy taming for the mobile players like me😁

Taming a quetz is one of the most hardest things to do on ark so me and my friends found the most easiest ways to tame one first you need a tappy jara then you need another tribe member and you also need a crossbow and a grapple hook and you need to drive your tribe member close enough to grapple on to the quetz and then you need to trank him out and you got a quetz

2. 2 crossbows

3. grapple hook

4. Franks

5.meat/prime meat/fish meat/kibnle

They are very very very very very big.

The only way to tame this beast is to gat a tapera and get passnger and get qurankilers or trank arowws

Super easy tame, simply trap it in air with skiff and stun it. When it faints move skiff little around till it snaps to it, than fly anywhere with it and feed kibble in safe place.

My first quetzals tame didn't take that long all I did was stand on the ground and pump it's butt full of darts and it got down pretty quickly.

I would like to know how all of you find these quetzals, I found one and it escaped cause I ran put of darts, and couldnt find another. GIVE ME YOUR SECRETS!!
