The best thing to do is tame a low level quetzal even level 1 with a freind and build a trap in his platform saddel you can find how in youtube than you can tame any level solo anytime

Easiest taming method: Have someone fly a wyvern, and have a tribe mate stand on the back of your wyvern and shoot tranqs. The wyvern is smooth and doesn't create any sway when you aim making it very easy. Shoot the wyvern with a grappling hook and you have a safety rope incase you fall. Wyvern rider needs to have a good stam wyvern and fly normally (not sprint speed).

When people say Red Obelisk, what map are you referring to? Do they just some how all appear at red obelisk on every map?? Please be specific

Back of tapejara and whistle. Should get the job done.

You can grapple to your friend argent and knock it out.if you have no friends you can grapple to arge and whistles attack target then passive do this till it's knocked.

Use a Griffin if you can get one. It will save you so much pain.

Find this works best on Crystal Isles for Single Player due to various levels of elevation: find and tame a Tapejara using bola and tranqs. Then ride the Tapejara looking for Quetz (I found many over towards the east of the map near floating islands). Look to land with Quetz still in render and then switch to passenger seat of Tapejara. Whistle attack target so your Tapejara follows the Quetz, tranq, feed, done. Be careful of water in this particular area though!

I found one stuck at a rock at the peak of the mountain, shot it with tranq arrow and it flees luckily it got stuck again and i was able to make it sleep. Tamed a quetz before level 50 I named it Lucky day

They spawn near the red ob there not that rare btw

If you can shoot it with a dodo arrow then trap it with normal dinosaur gate way then tranq it. For me that's the easiest way depending on your level

The best way to tame one is to grapple onto your argie and whistle attack target then shoot it with tranq ammo until it gets knocked out the quickly find it place the meat or rex kibble and tame it but right after you put the food in clear out the area of yuturanus direwolfs Argentavis sabortooth purlocia and most of all alpha Carnos because that is what killed my quezt right when it fell out of the sky it intalntly ate it.

When taming, make sure the quetz is not above water, otherwise when you K.O, it will drawn. Personal experience

If you’re playing mobile, tame a Royal Griffin, (I know it’s a lot of work) and load its face with tranqs until it is KO’d. Either use your Griffin to kill everything in the area (protect the quetz), or you can build with Dino gates around it, it may be hard, but you get a pretty good mount for it. If you play something else, I think another tip may help you.

If you're solo keep scrolling down. If you have friends simply get them to pick you up on a flying mount and you can shoot with tranqs.please and search dire on YouTube (my channel) for tutorials.

An easy way to tame these things is to get a griffin and tranq them while following. Griffins allow you to use guns and crossbows.

If you have a Quetzal, put a simple cage on it (This cage worked for me https://youtu.be/oHx1KeJX408) and have it follow your Argy, check every once in a while it doesn't get too far. Land your Argy on Quetz to regain stamina. Quetz will never run out of Stamina.

When you find your wild Quetz get in your Quetz and have Argy follow you and not your Quetz in case you fall. Always carry lots of parachutes in case you fall.

Get wild Quetz stuck in cage and take it down. When your Quetz gets low in stamina, jump on your Argy and let it regain to full. Repeat process until done. You can also check stamina of your Quetz will flying your Argy and getting close to your Quetz. No meat and stimz required.

After you’ve tamed your first quezt, on PvE, ask another tribe (you provide the resources) to craft a good saddle if you aren’t high enough level yet. Pump nothing but stam into your current one, build a quetzal trap and let the desired tame fly in. Close the trap, knock it out in the air, and you’re good to go. Make sure you bring lots of stimberries and meat so the quetzal doesn’t run out of food or stamina.

Idk why this is never brought up. Fly up and freeze it with a snow owl. When it falls to the ground refreeze it and then build Dino gateways over it. They can even be wood. Easy solo tame.

I would suggest a scorpion carried by a argy and set it on aggressive then just follow the quetz
