Ride on the back of a griffin and shoot while riding. This is how I tame my quetzals.

If you are on mobile and are having a hard time taming this, just kill it, build a revival platform with a bunch of roofs over it and revive it, it won’t be able to escape if you use pillars to support the roofs, it’s to big.

To tranq it solo it is easy to just jump of of your flyer and shoot a netprojectile at it and build gates above it so it can't escape

Why does everyone do this the hard way? The easiest way is to tame up a griffin, (you can shoot from it) fly to one an knock it out!

Net gun it and build around it so it cant escape and get out. Best way is on gen 2 since u can fly. Or with a griffin or tapejara. But the argie grapple method works too. Good luck!

Easiest way to tame it make a harpoon gun and some nets then net the quetzal out of the air and knock it out

Wait till it’s at half before you feed it… otherwise have fun waiting

Just shoot the quetz with a netprojectile and lock it up in small Dino gates, knock it out and tame it

These days it's so easy to tame Quetzal, u just need harpoon launcher, net projectile, some dino gates(any variant will work) and your flyer that u can shoot from(griffin or tapejara).

1. Find your self a Quetzal that u like to tame ( watch where is he flying, because if he is over dangerous place it will die)

2. Get on your flyer

3. Come close to Quetz and shoot the net on him

4. Watch where he fall down and place dino gates(one on his neck, his feet and the middle of his body, u can add some more if u think it will help)

5. Now u can tranq it

And What next u know.

There are 3 ways to knock out a quetz in single player. 1 grapple onto your argy and whistle attake target onto the quetz the Argy is slow so won't catch up and attach the Argy. Tranq the quetz walst dangling below the argy.2 tame a Griffin. Griffin s are the only flying tame were you can shoot of the back off walst riding.(this is how I tamed my 180 Tek quetz.3 this is for gen2 players (or people with Tek suits) only. Follow the quetz walst flying with a Tek suit and trank until knocked. Hope this helps :)

I like it for metal farms if u dont have a base in the mountains, get as many ankis as you can in the quetzal and go to ani mountain, for beginers i'll recommend the red wood forest one

Get a snow owl and try to freeze the Quetzal on its back when you think it's in a safe area. It will fall and even walk for a bit. Try to surround or cover it with dinosaur gateways and it will get stuck.

This isn’t a how to tame, but rare flowers in ark ultimate survivor edition don’t agro tek wuetzals. I tried it three times and it didn’t care. Also when you attack quetzals they go to the redwoods. I attacked it trying to get it to land or go to a safe spot but it would keep going to the red woods. For those who don’t understand why or this pattern, it is called 50\50 flight. 50/50 are coordinates in the red woods that for some bug this creature has a high probability to go to this location when attacked.

If you find one use a long neck rifle and you’ll need a a lot of tranq darts over 40 most likely

If you are having trouble finding one, go near the red obelisk and press tidy save on mobile wait a few minutes and one will pop up 95% of the time.

Quetz+(harpoon gun+net projectile)= PROFIT

The sinomacrops meathod seem easiest, except for quetz trap. Tame sino and ptera fly around to find on ptera, glide and shoot with sino. Once down build spike walls around him to protect from compys. Obtain and feed mutton in timely manner.

I found one it zoomed away as I watched my tame poof I chased it knocked it out came back with tame food
