How do you heal a wild quetz that trapped for tanning purposes? Any tips and tricks are appreciated.

It’s pretty hard to find and you have to a lot of arrows so make sure your prepared

Best way to tame this guy is to jump off a flyer, harpoon it with a net projectile, and parachute down. Be sure your flyer is on passive and following you. Then, trap it with pillars and ceilings. Tranq it in the head and there you go!

Saw someone else posted they had luck with the Griffin, just coming here to say I just tamed a 168 tek quetz using the griffin with about 1600 stam and a base level longneck.

So now you know, Griffin makes for a good quetz gaming animal without needing any sort of trap, just follow and shoot. Aim for the head for bonus points and an accuracy debuff.

Many pepole are saying get a bird and grapple it and make it chase the argi while taming. If your in single player then you can get a tapojira get its saddle go to the back seet of the saddle and knock it out that way instead

Get a grappling hook and a flyer. Fly close enough to the quetzal, jump-off and shoot it with the hook then shoot it with any tranquilizing ammo you have (wait 5 seconds between each shot)

Also make sure your flyer is following you so when the quetzal gets knocked out you can hook onto him.

U can use a griffen as well it's more way easier than all the tames because u can use longneck or crossbow while flying and riding at the same time

I’ve found quetzals around the river dividing the volcano from the redwoods and the island next to the red obliesk. But you have to go to a certain height to get them to spawn

Mobile Taming Method

° Usually located at Red Obelisk

° Use Tapejara or Griff ( Griff is a bit more reccomended )

° Use Toxicant or any other torpor item

° Chase for a few minutes

° Quetz is down

° Feed it rex kibble or meat

( ◎ Optional : Soothing balm )

° Play the waiting game ( you can also use biotoxin or narcotics )

☆ You now have a giant tame transporter.

Shoot it with a dodo arrow and it will start chasing and attacking you. Shoot it with shocking tranq dart and knock it. Then the usual soothing balm+ prime meat or Rex kibble. Up for noobs

Be sure to have a back up flyer if you are using the (Argentavis grappling) method; because you can miss the grappling hook while you are high up in the air and have your argentavis stuck up there while you are on the ground and it can't hear your whistle.

You will need a back up flyer in that case.

Go near red oblisk you will find one

Since I tried to catch second quetzal with quetzal trap (mobile), it no longer to get stuck in the trap, it will fly through the trap.

if your tapejara is too fast you can weigh it down w metal, stone, or its heavy azz saddle! (just dont weigh it to much or it will be way too slow..)

if you get the quartz a platform saddle and then whistle it to follow something on that saddle, it will not land automatically when you stop piloting it, as it normally would try to land otherwise.

combine this with an assistive Argy and you can gather resources/tame/explore without you quartz and base being threatened

2022: The easiest possible method to execute, but requires a bit of setup prior to it.

1. Any flyer will be be fine. I used a Wyvern, and a Sinomacrops.

2. Have parachutes at the ready.

3. Position yourself over the Quetzal you want to tame.

4. Drop on it, and while falling, hit it with a Net Projectile from the Harpoon Launcher. You can unlock both on Lost Island. It will fall to the ground, trapped.

5. Tranquilize while it’s down. You’ll have plenty of time.

6. Tame.

To those who say it’s impossible to tame in single player on mobile, it isn’t. I killed one, built a cage at an obelisk, respawned it using amber, and knocked it out. So, to the people who don’t have friends, you can still find a way to get this big boi.

They spawn all over but always make a B line for the red obelisk

Tame 3 quetz, 1 base 1 defense 1 to Cary creatures

These bad boys spawn around many different areas such as they are sometimes close to blue oby rarely but the are mostly around red oby(there sometimes near volcano)
