1.find one. 2.shoot it with pump shot gun(best option). 3.when it roars it should say ride so press ride. 4.kill dinos until you can use flame absorb. 5.keep attacking it and pressing flame absorb. 6.now when you done it and the bar is full at the bottom it should say tame with some buttons. Please like I spent a lot of righting/good luck

1. Find the pyromane you want to tame

2. Let it agro on you

3. Lead it into any type of water (I’m not sure but should work with all types of water.)

4. Once you lead it into water start damaging it

5. Wait for it to do the roar animation

6.Start kill creatures with the flame attacks and keep doing this until it tames

7. Enjoy your shadowman- I mean pyromane!

to tame pyromane easily: bring ice wyvern and hit him with the ability to spit ice from your mouth, get off the wyvern and go near the pyromane and mount him, kill all the nearby creatures you can find.

A good strategy is to scout the area first to make sure there are some dinos around. Then find the pyromane you want damage to 50% in water and ride it when you see the roar animation. Then go attack dinos and absorb the flames. If you don't see any more dinos around but are currently attacking one. Just hit the dino so it catches flames and absorb to reset 30 sec timer, then start riding away while the dino you were attacking aggros you. As you keep riding away only turn back and hit the aggroing dino and absorb flames if your 30 sec timer is running out. Keep repeating this until you find more dinos. Rinse repeat. For the people who don’t know these things can transform into a small form that can ride on your shoulder

Devs have patched the bug where the bag despawns after cryopoding

Be careful when cryopoding your new pyromane if you left important gear on it expecting it to drop a bag. As of the moment the bag disappears in 0.5 seconds deleting anything in it. I hope this can help people to not lose important items.

You can tame it right at the start with spears. Lure it into water deep enough for you to get comfortably under it, then hit it until it roars. It may take a few attempts.

It’s also easier to tame a higher level one because it’s less likely to die during the taming process.

Pyromane abilities and benefits

It passively cooks meat, along with that transforming it into jerky over time without oil (unsure if spark power needed)

In both forms it provides insulation but the lion form provides much greater insulation

It can provide fuel to refining forges and campfires

It has a immense damage over time ability in the form of its fire effect, this can go up in stages to 10

Think of its DOT being similar to the thylacoleo’s DOT (unsure of which is more)

Its battle abilities includes, a m1 bite applying the status

effect and dealing a base of 20 damage I believe, however the attack is a brutal one due to its speed of attack

Right click/Left bumper for console (I believe) uses the flame leap ability this can be used every 5 seconds

Holding right click/left bumper uses the flame trail ability this consumes some of its absorbed flames

Ctrl right click/ r3 + left bumper (I think) uses the flame absorb ability, it absorbs nearby flames and stores them for battle use

Ctrl + left click/r3 Right bumper uses the flame boost effect, this consumes absorbed flames to deal an additional 50% damage, lasts until cancelled or depleted of absorbed flames

Swap to shoulder pet, Ctrl + C (unknown of console keybind)

Self explanatory, it transforms it to the shoulder pet form

This has been utility of the pyromane, I apologize if I got some of the console keybinds wrong

You can use the Extinguisher Grenade to give him the doused debuff

Controller button for drain flames is RB + LT Xbox and R1 +L2 for PS.

Then to tame it fully its RB + RT (R1 + L2) for some reason so it puts you in 1st person dino mode.

2 Bolas and a pike in the rain for a 135 to roar

When you have a pyromane on your shoulder leeches that attach will burn of automatically!

On PS5 hit R1+R2 to tame it when at 100%

Don’t take these down to the bottom of the ocean as they will explode

The extinguisher grenade works for putting out their flame 👍🏼

I usally pick it up with an argy (when it’s picked up it won’t attack u unless u attack it) bring to somewhere with a lot of dinos then start shooting makes the taming process a lot easier and safer

It's poo spoils into charcoal if collected

If you try to tame when raining it will already have its flames extinguished.

You can grab them with an argy. Just don't attack them and even if they attack you before you can grab them they won't hurt you while your carrying them off to the ocean or a puddle to give them the doused debuff and allow you to damage them enough to get to the taming process. 30 seconds is tough so make sure your in an area with lots of stuff to kill close by
