Tips & Strategies

What are tips for pyromane? Tips and strategies for pyromane in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
To tame these guys you need to get them below 50% health (I might be wrong it could be lower) and apply the “doused” effect to them, which you can do simply by having it rain or putting it in water
After that you must ride the Pyromane and fight creatures/absorb fire (ctrl + right click, and I think L1 R2 for console)
Upon riding you’ll notice a timer, this is until your are dismounted and put at risk of attack from the Pyromane however it will reset upon killing a enemy or absorbing fire (unsure about killing enemy)
This creature can be a difficult and confusing tame however it is worth it
You can tame it right at the start with spears. Lure it into water deep enough for you to get comfortably under it, then hit it until it roars. It may take a few attempts.
It’s also easier to tame a higher level one because it’s less likely to die during the taming process.
Wait for the rain. If it’s snowing it’s raining by the pyromanes.
Find the one you want and attack it with your tame.
Kite it to a place where there are brontos or other fattys.
Boom easy.
If you are having a hard time with the timer just keep something alive and kite it along with you while you find more wilds. Only pull flames when you need to reset the timer until you’re close to other animals.
I usally pick it up with an argy (when it’s picked up it won’t attack u unless u attack it) bring to somewhere with a lot of dinos then start shooting makes the taming process a lot easier and safer
If you have a Wyvern, build a pen and go grab small animals with your wyvern and drop them in the pen, then once you are riding the Pyro to tame, jump in the pen and it’s free eats.
The pyromane is an extremely useful tame found in Ragnorock by the shore where the ground is black, the spawn probably as uncommon, but stand out from other creatures in the area due to the fire that they have. Preferably mount a high level because keeping them alive can sometimes be difficult.
Tame when it’s raining. The rain douses their flames so you don’t have to lead them to water.
Build a trap, lure a ton of wild dinos in, get pyro to rideable state, munch and absorb flame
Update what this thing can be affected by NOW. Dododex said this could not be bola'd, so I went to PVP some guys in their cave and SURE enough, first thing they did was bola the pyromane and it knocked me off the Pyro. I ended up being killed along with my pyro. This happened to me last night in Ark Ascended.
PYROMANE's ARE AFFECTED by BOLA's in BOTH ASE/ASA.
1:Choose your Pyromane
2:Lead it to ANY source of water
3:Hit it till it roars
4:Ride it and let it kill some dinos till it's taming process is at 100%
5:BAM YOU HAVE A PYROMANE 😁
2 Bolas and a pike in the rain for a 135 to roar
Pyromanes and probably the most useful tame at least to me, these tames can take out most creatures in the game especially with their powerful fire abilities, they give great cold and heat resistance also make cooked meat for you without any cost, very convenient because they can fit on your shoulder and then be released
Definitely worth the five bucks
On ragnorkock I have been able to tame many of these early game by using other peoples water traps or finding a low lvl and taming with a bow ik the rain then using that to damage better ones below 50 percent, if attempting to get them in trap be aware of their flame leap as it does good damage and allows them to cover distance fast
It is carryable by rhyniognatha
You can grab them with an argy. Just don't attack them and even if they attack you before you can grab them they won't hurt you while your carrying them off to the ocean or a puddle to give them the doused debuff and allow you to damage them enough to get to the taming process. 30 seconds is tough so make sure your in an area with lots of stuff to kill close by
To guy who said walks all over Lava Golem and Ice worm queen. I have killed the ice worm queen, but what melee for fighting the Lava golem. Also does fires affect the golem. Could my Pyromane that I beat the queen with (8k hp and 455 or more % melee lvl 277) beat the lava golem? Thank you.
You can actually find these on schorched earth in the wyvern trench too
