This is the best early game Dino you can get. But you need to get an arge so that you can pick more things up.

Pteras are awesome my ptera can get all the way from my new base to my old base 😆

They don’t stop flying they only land when they have no stamina so you can’t fly on them with no stamina

Do not leave the game flying on it, when you connect again you will fall and die, upwote so noobs know

It’s shit every-time I fly for 30 seconds and have to land because it runs out of stamina

Is good for farming metal and crystals so also lvl weight up and stamina so you can make it a good farming flyer

The barrel roll does by far the most damage. I've killed several high level alpha rexes with careful flying on a level 41 ptera.

Big thanks to the person who posted the comment about using the spyglass while rolling. I take back my earlier comment about not recommending it as a way to kill gigas. In the past two days, without any backup or imprint, Shadowbeak has become my most valued tame with his score of 1 giga, 1 alpha Rex, countless rexes, brontos and paracers and a titanosaur. (Yes, titanosaur, which was easier and more relaxing than the giga kill.) Boosting his level from 209 to 240. Far more impressive than the spinos or the one mosa I've been keeping. Seriously, with this feature the pteranodon is definitely the hardest hitter on the island, if not the other maps.

The usual starting flier. Their spin attack can easily clean out swarms of meganeura and titanomyrma. You can also use it and other fliers to lure away imminent dangers you're not prepared to take on from your home by aggroing it and flying away. Later on switch to argy since it can travel longer and carry a wider variety of animals.

These things are sooo easy to tame with a bola and any kind of tranq but if you get a high lvl it will be a good and loyal flyer for everything you need

The pteranodon using barrel roll while using a spyglass is a great tip as it insta kills any creature. But this works for every creature. I have killed an alpha carno using a rex in 10 sec with this trick. Just attack then quickly use the spyglass. But be careful when using this trick because sometimes the creature can also deal more damage when ur using the spyglass!

If you have a good stat one of these on pvp and your flying around and you see another player you can pick them up if your pteronodon has good enough stats and take them high into the air and drop them and kill them with fall damage.

Tame at least 5 level 1 up only in health another only in speed another only in stamina another only in weight another only in melee and then breed them and get really good pteranodons.

If your bird is still alive when you get your first Argy, pump the rest of its xp into movement speed so if you die and lose your Argy you can get to your death-place as quickly as possible.

If your on mobile you cant do the barrel roll move unless you change thungs in settings but, overall one of the best early game flyers

One would say a great game now only good for base decor! Sad day in ark when breed up 309 now they slow!

RIP to Pteras :( they were once so great and now have been nerfed into a almost useless animal. Oh how much harder it will now be to get prime and a lot of other things. :(((

It's useless now. Bad stamina, low speed,what more should you want.

If the pterodon has a high enough weight you can pick up animals with left trigger on Xbox. Depending on stamina you can only try a few times as it drains stamina with each attempt.
