Your Pteranodon Taming Pocket Guide

Some info-

Let's face it, they're the first flyer you tamed. High levels are the best to tame, as their stamina stat is trash and you can use the highest level of stamina you can get without leveling up. Might (or might not) be replaced by an Argy or Griffin (for fancy people).

Taming-

Super easy tames, a simple bola and tranq. Because of their tiny health pool I'd recommend tranq arrows and not a club or slingshot because, chances are, you'll just kill it before you knock it out. If you find a max level try to use kibble of raw prime, but normal meat works just as well. Even the lowest levels need a few narcotics, so bring some along no matter what level you're going after.

Saddling and stats-

Saddle requires fibre and hide (I think) as well as 75 keratin. Make sure to get the keratin before you can unlock the saddle. I know from personal experience that it sucks to unlock the saddle just to wait 10 in-game days for a turtle to spawn -_-

As for stats, they aren't too good. Low heath and stamina, although I personally only put points in stamina.

This is actually so simple get 4 prime meat craft a bola capture it with the bola then punch it till it’s unconscious feed it soothing balm and then they should eat about 2 prime meat and there you are u have a flyer! Just did it

use a net gun to easily tame dinos

Simple guide for taming this first flyer creature

1. Get a high level moschops

2. Gather hide, fiber with moschops

3. Kill turtle creatures to get keratin (With or without moschops)

4. Get bolas, bow, tranq arrows, and make the saddle

5. Find the one you want

6. Bola it and then get your tranq arrows with bow out and shoot

7. It's knocked out

8. Put any meant you have in it

9. Tamed Put saddle on

Lvl 10-20 anything stronger than a trike no battle

Lvl 21-40 anything stronger than bryonyx no battle.

Lvl- 41-70 anything stronger than a rex no battle

Lvl 71-120 anything stronger than spino no battle.

Very good for: stealing wyvern eggs, gathering things, traveling

Get 2 bolas

Find one on the ground in a safe place

And Bola it and then hit it with a club until it’s

Knocked out

Tame it and Boom you have a Pteranodon

(P.S. get a stack of meat 10 narcotics and have 1/2 and hour to spare)

This dino, can kill bosses, alphas, and more. It can help u get anywhere.

Remember when using the pteranodon to not boost ur speed use it on something worth as the nerf will ruin the bird

If u want to be done fast feed it kibble but if u want to stay there the whole day feed it meat hahahah

If there's two high level tames check for wasted stats so you get the better tame

These are now useless because of the flyers Nerf...

Make sure when taming, you have spikes around yourself and the pteradon to stop any wild dinos from killing it.

If you shoot it on the spine on the back of it's head it will knock almost any level out with one narc arrow

Starve tame the bird to get the max amount of boosted levels

Go to the red obelisk side of redwoods there is a swarm of them there.

If your taming speed is ser on 6, prime is faster than kibble. Maybe its like that always, I dont know but yeah

Saddles are super expensive. So don't craft saddles,just wait until you are at least higher than lvl 39

My ptera has 500% melee and can 2 hit level 50 mammoths :)

Said it would be a baby for 2.5 hours, its already been 5 and its still a baby

On the island map your going to want to go to herbivore island in the south eastern part of the map I caught a 140 there earlier today and since its herbivore island as long as you don't hit any of the other creatures you won't have to worry about protecting the pteranodon or yourself just make sure to have a bola and you'll be fine
