What's crazy is that apparently according to ark logic I can build a steel ballista turret AND a high tech heat dispersing ghilly suit 10 levels before I learn how to craft a leather saddle for one of these things? lol up vote this so somebody important fixes that. That's horrible lol

You've basically beaten the game once you've managed to get atleast a decent level ptera with a saddle on. That's is if you don't run out of stamina in mid air above hostile territory and get gangbanged by like 5 carnos at once.

Pteranodons make a great prehistoric equivolant to the modern day Chinese lamp. Just light one on fire with a wyvern and watch them float off into the nightes sky
