Breed them a lot they r good my just hatch 270 lvl with 50 mutation on each parent side is a 700 melee right now

Tame some female dodos and make dodo kibble to tame some pteranodons, its very easy

The Torpor goes down really fast so be aware of that. AND KILL EVERY ENEMY otherwise they might kill you're Tame

Very good starting dino. Definitely tame early on to get around and find a place to build your base.

Bola it then walk behind it and shoot it in the back of the skull, this is the easiest and quickest way I have found so far and it usually takes 1 or 2 tranq arrows

For newer players always get a bola first then punch it till it knocks out then use lots and lots of meat

Use the door frames to fit them into bases when raiding a high level Pteranodon helps it kills quick just make sure you have backups because you might get hit with a bola. Also tame low level pteranodons to suicide bomb bases with turrets it helps a lot I wiped and alpha tribe by taking down their turret tower with suicide birds. Lost our best giga tho we only had 15 now we're alpha.

Make sure not to knock it out over Waters cause then there is no point wait till it's on the ground.

2500 stamina 200 speed 300 weight 300 melee thats an all around good mount

Don't forget to not put it to next to a stone wall that way it can bug out and just disappear. I lost 3 birds that way

Make sure to pump weight if you are planning to carry a tribe mate or you will have a huge problem

Bola the creature in then knock it out with club.

Just throw a bola on them and your will never ever have problems to knock them out again

Definitely one of the best dinosaurs in the game, if you don't have a quatzal or tapejara yet. I recommend having a strong, a quick and a weight carrying pterenadon to help you around. Also useful for parking on rocks to snipe dinosaurs or to attack with it, since it can attack and fly away, and that a lot of times can even kill a rex

Watch out if it is a low level Pterandon amd you have tranq arrows because if you are trying to tame you might kill instead.

How to tame a ptero

Ya will need:

-bolas

-narcoberry

-meat

Find a ptero and throw bola on it. Knock that even it stay unconscious. Put meat on inventory (recommended 20 or less or more bc the tame bar grow slowly). Why narcoberries? When its unconsciousness will be ending, start feeding narcoberries to fill unconscious bar. Sorry if my english is bad.

Very very hard when I was trying to tame this I didn’t sucseed because

it keeps flying away.

1 make a bow and 5 knock out arrows.

2 find a pteranodon that’s on the ground.

3 shoot it in the head with arrow and if it flys hit it again.

4 give it dodo kibble ( only on mobile ) or simple kibble.

5 give it nacro berries if it is about to wake up.

6 give a saddle for your new friend.

Have a few parachutes ready in case you fall off or it lands in water or it goes unconscious mid-flight.
