Spike walls don't protect it use fence foundations to build a three high wall around it or allow will make mince meat out of your tame

When you are trying to get a ptery. Make sure you can be next to the bird for the amount of time it will take to tame. Make sure you have kibble or it will take to long. Then put spike walls around you for safety and bring food for yourself. You should be fine, GOOD LUCK

Awesome early flyer to get with dodo kibble if you start getting veggies from early on. Can be very easy to get.

Bola the pteranodon before you tranq it.

What I found helpful for if your just starting out look for a level 5 and use a bow not a crossbow b/c a crossbow has a slower reload time. And if you have tribe members online ask them to help, but make sure to change the tribe setting and your tribe member could help. If you are playing on solo just start small with a level 5.

Best way to find and KO one of these bad boys is to take your self and your spy glass down the river they like hangout out there.

Always make sure it's worth to tame a pteranodon by punching in its stats on the Dododex caculator and see whether it wasted points and what you need to put points to like health stamina etc

Great for transport. With enough wieght you can make metal runs. The game is much easier with a flyer.

Try and team up with someone else to knock out the pteranodon.

BE CAREFUL picking up stray pteranodon eggs! If you manage to agro a group of pteras, they can do a lot of damage really quick. If you do this, find a base with plant species X and hide near those.

To tame these, use a bola. Tranq arrows work the best but if you don't have any, just club it. Do NOT slingshot it, that will kill it. From there, it likes meat and depending on the level you may need a couple stacks, so get to killing all the weak dinos in a 15 mile vicinity. They won't mind. Now these things torpor drains really fast, but if your at the level where you have tranq arrows you should already have the narcotic engram. Just force feed them a couple of those until they love you! An important thing to note (not just with Pteras but all dinos) is that if you club it while it is asleep, or anything attacks it during the taming process, it will lose taming effectiveness. This will affect the levels and stats it gains from taming, so watch the are you are in and murder any carnivores or birds in the area if you feel they pose a threat.

First of all you need bolas then once it is imobilized use a club to knock it if u have raw meat u would need up to 7 narcotics their eating speed is verry low

If u want bronto eggs, or any eggs for that matter, here’s a trick I use. Tame a flyer. I personally use my pteranodons. Fly to the egg you want, take it and fly away leading the aggroed dino to the ocean. Then hover and watch as they are devoured by megs. Then, go back to where you need to be and enjoy a nice omelette.

If you don’t have a good source of prime meat try to kill sabertooths Salmons is in small rivers or oceans if you have an aquatic creature to get prime fish it will not be as effective but still faster and taming effectiveness will be higher Just don’t do what I did and feed them fish meat I didn’t know that raw meat was more effective I just saw thought since it was a bird it would eat fish so don’t be like me 👍
