I wish this thing had a peck down attack, also with the quetz

If I were you I would upgrade the stamina most of the time of the pteranodon because you might be battling then your stamina goes down then the pteranodon flies to the floor (also upgrade weight otherwise the pteranodon will fly slow)

Easy tip! If you found a ptera lvl low by 90 bola it, equip your rifle, reload, get near it shoot the head only ONCE then its K.O already. Have a perfect taming!

Is it just me, or do these guys have way more stamina than on pc? And how do you do a barrel roll? I'm going crazy trying to find out how.

Do not under any circumstances let your friend persuade you to take on a spino or anything else big that is in the water. Trust me I know it does not end well for you.

If you tame a low level strap c4 to it and suicide bomb

Be careful barrel rolling into Rex's or alphas. I got stuck in ones body and couldn't escape. It killed my 145 tame Petra. Then me.

Mostly just a starter flier, but still useful at higher lvls. They are fast and, with enough health and damage, can be good fighters with their barrel rolling(which also harvests from your kills great). My kibble tamed at lvl 150 had 360% damage when I got it so it can take down almost anything with enough barrel rolls and patience. Just watch their stamina

So watch the stamina when flying land before low or will go unconscious. I've lost two of them already. They are still alive I just can't find them. Any help

Hands down one of my favorite dinos. As a travel mount its best to lvl speed and stamina mostly speed. As a battle mount lvl health melee and stamina. A pair of high lvl (170+) freshly tamed make for great mates. When they hit 200 breed and continue. U will have the most vicious battle mount with incredible speed. Mine is at roughly 12,300 health 3000 stam 900 weight and 560% melee and 300%speed lvl 267 and still upgrading.

It might just be me but it seems these things tame faster when you are away from them! Just check on them every now and then to make sure they aren’t going to wake up before they are tamed!

My first pteradon and i were flyin hunting for carnos, and we landed i dismounted the next thing i attacked a pack of dimorphodons and it attacked emm and one remained my pteradon chased it to the sky where it flew up and now i cant even see it with a scope i built a base there in the middle of the island cuz im stranded and waiting for it to come down. Any ideas to help me get it down?

Barrel roll works really well especially when you’re good at using it you can hit things without being attacked. I play on a level 300 single player game and my ptera has health and melee mutations but I basically got to level 70 with only that tame. :)

Its good for easy and safe travel. Get boi toxin so it will stay asleep. Thanks to this I have 4 raptors a sarco a and a diplo. But mine died to a therorrizer :( i was using it to find a raptor I was knocking out the raptor I fell off a cliff and when I was coming to get my pterandonon I made a wrong turn found a diplo and forgot about her but then while I was taming my diplo it said she was killed by a therorrizer I looked up and thats where she would have been I felt bad I couldv whistled and she wouldv lived.

Use T he other tips to knock it out. Make sure your well-prepared for it.. And go for it! For the ones that don’t wanna wait a eternity, USE DODO-KIBBLE!

Don’t. Don’t even try taming them. Just watch adds till u get a argie saddle and tame argies. It’s way easier. Cuz they can grab bigger things and can carry more metal than two average Brontos with a pack of three. Plus my pteranodons would always push me off cliffs. And into a gigas jaws.

Through personal experience with this dinosaur I’ve found it very useful and a good way of travel and I tamed him with regular meat so if your just looking to tame but don’t care how long this is the way to go
