Barrel rolls are so useful, but they drain stamina very quickly. Make sure to keep an eye on the stamina bar if you want to spam it.

They are fastest creature in game. So tame a high level which will be useful to cover the map even in endgame(as griffin is headache to tame).

How do you do a barrel roll? Also did you know that a good amount of stamina is around 500 to 600

To barrell roll use the special key on Xbox and PS4 it’s r3 (right analog clicked in) and pc it should default to C

Had one since lvl 10 and kept it until I could create a saddle for it. I was on my first trip out with it, and it went and attacked a tek Rex and died. I tamed the tek Rex though. RIP.

Level 20 or lower only takes one trank arrow from a crossbow

Do not tame a Pteranodon early game Level 0-25 it might die because you need to get to level 38 to unlock the saddle unless you already have one or you have other uses for the Pteranodon.

Upgrade that Stamina a lot your gonna need it also this bird is op with a golden collar

Just tamed my first pteranodon and thought I would come here to see what this said about the taming and brought double what it said I needed and only ended up using (lvl15 it recommended 55) 38 narcotics.....

These are the first flyer u will have on ark and here some tips to tame it

1-find one

2-bola it

3-hit it's head with a club till it get KO'd

4-give it meat

5- if u have trouble with it being unconscious feed it narcotics

Apparently If you are in Ark Mobile, Just go straight for Medium Difficulty even though you have no experience.

Taming them in Easy Difficulty is Absolutely useless although great for travels, It can’t carry much weight. And as we all know Heavier Weight = Slower so even you have max speed pteranodon It won’t be useful for much long.

Man just go to Medium Difficulty then Tame an level 110, It should have enough decent stat to carry you till mid-game— many pros still use this as an traveling method due to the fact that even if you had an argy it would be pretty slow.

Feed pteranodon Regular Kibble, Dodo Kibble, Raw Mutton, Raw Prime Meat, Cooked Lamb Chop, Cooked Prime Meat, Raw Prime Fish Meat, Raw Meat, Cooked Prime Fish Meat, Cooked Meat, Raw Fish Meat, and Cooked Fish Meat.

1 get bola

2 wooden club - tranq arrows

3 bow crosbow

4 easy to tame

5 when you tame one you need narcotic

Really fast but only picks up small creatures and it cant hold a lot of weight

-craft 10 narcotis

-find pteradon

-bola pteradon

-hock out pteradon

-feed it 50 meet

-and drug it when is low on unconcisnes

-enjoy new pteradon- Works on any level

If you tame one of these deffinetly check its weight stat.low level ones have amazingly low weight and because of that it may not even carry you if you only jave simple tools ob the inventory

Steal its egg then use a Bola that simple

Still a over-all good small load flyer.... just used one of these with a Fjordhawk to nab wyvern eggs. Only obstacles was escaping, still got 2 eggs before being toasted to a crisp. Would recommend Stamina, then Movement/Weight. The more barrel rolls you can do before exhaustion is key while maintaining maximum movement speed and minimum weight to outrun a wyvern. Lowest being 180% movement(base wyvern speed sprint-fly speed), would recommend 145 if using barrel rolls instead. Weight should be around 300 for going naked/minimum gear and items.
