If it’s low level like 75 and other don’t bother boaling it, just shoot it in the head and get another hit on the body, if your using like a club or a slingshot thought then bola it

Must have on PvP worlds. Easy for picking of enemy players as you can get out of their reach quickly. Second to Karpo though. Great for PvE as well. Useful for flying to the volcano or other high peeks. Wouldn't recommend a low lvl survivor tame as the saddle is hard to make. (Chitin/Keratin)

To tame:

Preparation- bring...

• At least 9 kibble for level 100 or less

• At least 20 tranq arrows

• 4 wooden spiked walls to surround the pteranodon with to keep

away predators (leave a small hole for you to crawl through)

• At least 20 Narcotics

• At least 3 bolas (the two extras in case you miss)

To knock out-

• Immobilize with the bola

• Hit with a tranq arrow. Wait five seconds. Repeat until knocked

out.

To tame-

• DO NOT give all the kibble or narcs at once. If a larger predator, such as a T-Rex, comes along, it will kill the pteranodon and you will have to retreat. You will most likely lose the narcs and kibble if you give the pteranodon all of it at once. Instead starve tame. (The rest of this tip is how to starve tame)

To starve tame-

1. Knock the Dino out

2. Wait until the Dino is at 3/4 to 1/2 hunger

3. Give the Dino narcos if needed. Only give one at a time.

4. Feed Dino with preferred kibble.

5. Repeat.

If you spyglass and role it does not do more damage but attacks multiple times really fast.

Always keep spoiled meat because then there is a 50% less chance of a seagull stealing your pteranodons food or anything else you put in your pteranodon i guess

Tip for fast and easy taming

Make sure you’re well rested

Or you walk with sleeping bag incase you see one

Sleep first before you knock out any dino

Then put your food in inventory for taming

Won’t take up to a minute 😌

When you knock it out make sure to put spikes around it so no predators kill it then starve it and make sure to keep a eye on its torpor because it drains fast and if this is not helpful we’ll……..I don’t know

To tame it you dont need raw prime meat you just need some narcotics and only feed it wants it’s torpor is at 20% it worked for me with a level 5

There is a glitch where they randomly walk foward when dismounted.

Idk how I did it but on mobile I always couldn't do the barrel roll..... Until I leveled my pteranodons speed up to 200 ( in mobile you can upgrade movement speed) and then I could do the barrel roll.... Idk if this is how you get the barrel roll move also if you want to use it go to settings go to controls then click one of the little tabs and turn it to Secondary attack / reload and boom you can maybe use the move now

Mine killed a bunch of Spinos and Rexes, it even took on an Alpha Rex 😂 And we both survived, heck... My pteranodon is a mf beast but, it loves to put me in danger.

I spent ages trying to tame one and kept I bolad some but the tranq arrows killed them all. And then I stopped cos I realised I cud ride my pelagornis petal

To tame a pteranodon simply make a bola, hit it with the bola so it stays on the ground, knock it out then build walls and spikes around it and starve tame it so you get better taming effectiveness... if the pteranodon is low level there is really no point in starve taming unless you want to.

I was surprised that my pt was jealous of my newly tamed Tapejara. He would not stop flying over the tapejara no matter how many times I whistled to stop following and no matter how far I would take pt away

With the new ascended it seems the stats for how much to feed is off even though I have my taming 3x on my game it says to feed 3 raw meat but it actually takes 6 so what’s wrong?

For all y’all bobs out there, to barrel roll on mobile you go to settings and set left or right double tap to ALT ATTACK 1.

I’ve tried to tame one by knocking it out with my hands. Don’t try that. Know what, don’t try anything melee. Get a bow r something.

Level 5 Pteranodon takes 2 prime meat to tame if you use single player settings even if on 1x taming. Single player ups all multipliers.

These passive reptiles are nice but when you take its egg it becomes neutral and will attack the point is do not take these passive reptiles eggs!
