Don’t let them catch you on a mount while behind you or your dead in the water. make sure they stay in front of you whenever you encounter them because of how fast they hit.

DO NOT! Lose your stuff in the water they act like torpedos that tear you apart

The way I kill them is lure them to the edge of the water, get out and then they can't hurt you but you can kill them.

Always check rivers for these guys.

Walk into the river (not with Dino)

And see if they come for you.

If they do, you can easily kill them.

I was ramming a barionix in the swamp he then I tamed him I was soooooo happy until a piranha killed it if what the barionix was low HP

I wish WildCard will make them tameable like it says in their dossier because they look pretty cool

Encountering this piranha and dont know what to do? dont worry, all you need is a baryonyx. Megapiranha is the most (Not really) worst water dino in ARK, crossing in rivers are the worst thing ever.

Can be tamed in abberation however you have to force feed it in it's inventory it will not feed itself.not worth taming. To tame. Jump in the water and get them to beach themselves. Kill the ones you don't want. Place fish basket wait near fish. Wait till it initializes. If the fish leaves range kite it back and start over. Then pick up trap you have five min to get them to what ever body of water you want them in. Remember you must force feed them like a baby after hatching/birth. For the entirety of their life.

Kill then. If they are too powerful, swim away.

While everyone is talking about how annoying piranhas are let me tell you a secret, if you swim in water and piranhas are after you, find land and once they can’t get any closer to you try swimming beside them because they’ll try to turn to you with will slide them onto land and die which is basically free food (not guaranteed to work every time)
