Chapter fifteen: A terrible price.
Everything is dark. My head hurts, but that’s normal. My body aches with pain. That’s normal too. Something is wrong, I know something is wrong. I feel darker, and more…twisted. Am I supposed to be like that? No. No I’m not. They wouldn’t want that, would they? No, no they wouldn’t. But I can’t stop that. I live in the dark. In the shadows of the night. They all hate me. They all fear me.
Maybe it’s better this way. I know what I want. They took it from me. It was everything to me. They took it from me. And now they will pay for what they have done. All of them. I know what I want and the one who can give it to me, knows too. But will they give it back? Yes, I will make them. I have to have it back! I can’t live without it! I will find a way. “It’s okay”….but it’s not. It hurts. They say I have a heart of stone. Is that true? Probably. But only because of what they did to me. They’re afraid of me. Good. Being feared is good, right? I don’t know who I am anymore. I feel like I’ve lost my true identity but…I don’t know how to bring it back.
My body aches with pain, my humanity is all but gone, I am….a monster. I will find a way to get what I want back. Nothing can stop me. My heart yearns for it…and I will have it. I can barely move without feeling pain. Sometimes I wish that I was still a child. Children are so naïve and innocent, they know nothing about the dangers of the world. They think that the world is a good place where people get along, and work together. They’re wrong. The world is cruel and dangerous, they took everything from me. I will get it back though, the thing I need most. I learned too late, not to trust people. And now I’m here. Everything hurts. It’s so dark in here. Can I come out and play?

When they first came out, I was on a server ran and used by an online group I was with. I tamed about 8 and started breeding. The entire server, INCLUDING my own tribemates hated me even though I always culled the weakest and my pego army never reached more than about 16 max. Then I did the same with my own pack of direwolves on same server. Let's just say, I was "gifted" a ton of bribes, including an argie purposely "painted to look like an Articuno by a RIVAL tribe LEADER, to stay the hell away from any and all tribe wars. Ah, such glorious memories...
I never minded these. They always annoyed everyone and I didn't see why. Yes, they steal your items, yet, they give them back of you kill them. I can't say the same for the Ichthyornis. Well, I get it now. A pego stole my cryopoded level 206 quetzal, Midnight. I couldn't find the pego. That quetz took me 2 and a half hours to tame. RIP Midnight.
After running after Jim for about 10 minutes (I didn't looke at what he eats so I offered him meat and random things to steal, so the taming time was so slow) he stated swimming and suddenly died. I dont know why. Was it from hunger? Lack of oxygen? There weren't any piranhas near us.
Later I tried taking another one, he also entered to that river, and after several minutes of swimming he also died. And the same happened to three more of them. They preferred dying to be by my side.....
I was playing my new single player world and I was pretty new, stone tools thatch hut that sort of stuff, and I accidentally tamed one of these (his name is accident) and we where out on the beach and I get hit by a sarco, I panic and run away. I turn back to see if it’s following me and I see my pego attacking it, I didn’t expect much from him when I got the notification saying your accident (pegomastax lvl 10) killed sarco lvl 50. Don’t underestimate these mfs
One day I set out berry harvesting. While harvesting I seemed to have gained the intrest of these little creatures. They must have thought I was picking the berries for them because they kept taking them and then deciding to be my friend. It wasn't until after I had gained a small pack that I realized they always take from the last inventory slot and I had a certain berry there. They now live very comfortably with plenty of berries so they don't have to steal.
I saw someone say they can take cryopoded pets… I didn’t believe them and then went on with my day.. I put my level 357 Giga in a cryopod to take it to my new base and saw a pego. I walked up to it and shot it and then it stole my cryopod… I chased it for 30 minutes and as I was doing that I got a RED NOTIFICATION “your level 240 Rex was killed by level 10 pegomastax” I just quit, deleted the world, and touched some grass while soaking it with my tears..
