{A New Home; Chapter 4}I slowly but weakly sat myself up and began to process where I was. My back was bathing in its own sweat and was uncomfortably stiff.

I had unknowingly fell asleep on the Redwoods Sapling that me and Josh and rested upon after the Rex incident.

I fully opened my eyes and turned on my brain and wiped the leftover, dried drool that had dripped out my mouth while I was sleeping. I sat up and looked around for any danger, knowing how the Redwoods likes to torture us. Fortunately, not a Terror bird in sight, and the Redwoods is notoriously known for vicious, flesh-ripping Terror birds that rush you down at a moment's notice.

"Josh. Josh. Wake up." I shook him to get him to open his eyes.

"Urrgg..ugghhh, what?" He groaned wearily.

"Get up. We need to get moving." I said as I observed the sky, and saw how dark it was becoming.

"One more..minute, I'm tired..."

"Josh, get up! Get up, you lazy jerk!" I screamed at him to wake him up further more.

"Ugh, fine!" He rolled over and stood up, smacking me with his still asleep arm.

"It's getting late, we need to find a suitable dinosaur spot not filled with dangerous dinosaurs."

Josh blinked twice and rubbed his head.

I stood confused and then realized what I just said. What did I just say?

"Ah, sh--! I mean let's find a safe camping spot! I'm tired too, alright?" I cringed at the idea of saying such embarrassing thing at Josh.

We both began to find yet another campsite we could stay in for atleast one more night, and then find our way out of Redwoods. I can't stand this, moving back and forth, constantly trying to find a SAFE place in the REDWOODS. No matter how hard we try, those two words can never go together.

It was getting dark and scary. As the moon revealed itself to shine in the night, we could see the Thylacoleos' silhouettes in the trees far from us, and the quick sliver of another silhouette up in the air. And the dark figure of an unknown creature rushing at us with glowing eyes.

Josh backs up and pulls out the bow as I realize the small figure rushing towards us is a Troodon. I pull out my spear as he headshots the creepy little thing, instantly causing the glowing eyes to disappear.

"It's getting a bit dark, maybe we should just set camp wherever there aren't dangerous carnivores as soon as we sit down instead of walking in the dead night, waiting to bump into an Allosaurus or something."

"Or Troodons." I shudder as we walk around the corpse of the creature. Eventually, me and Josh find a nice little opening spot in the trees where we settle down at to set up camp. I pull out my hatchet and began getting some wood and stone for the campfire while Josh got the flint and thatch.

I toss the wood on the campfire, and all of a sudden I hear the bristle of the bush behind me. I quickly pull out my spear before a Pegomastax just jumps out of it, goes over me and after Josh, stealing the bow we got as a gift and running away as fast as it can.

"HEY, you little-!" Josh rushes after it and I'm not far behind. I hold out the torch as I run right next to Josh to give him light to see the thief, but then a Dodo rushes towards us out of nowhere. To my surprise, it seems to have a little box-shaped device tied to its back. Wait...

"Oh sh--, it's a c4! Get BACK-!" Josh pulls me away with all his strength, and launches me back near the campsite as he zooms across the clearing.

But he was too slow.
