The DPS of these guys is actually insane for a small-medium herbivore. They have 28 base damage, which is not the best, but they hit like 5 times per second. I tamed a lvl 130 (in the wild, lvl 194 tamed) with ~500% melee damage and that thing can shred through all of the health of a mid level Trike (about 750-1250 health) before it even reacts. I then went to more dangerous areas to see how good it was. It destroyed a lvl 140 Chalicotherium (~3000 health) in the matter of seconds. Then I took on a lvl 60 Bronto (~7000 health); the Bronto didn’t stand a chance, as the knock back of this thing makes it very difficult for enemy creatures to hit it, even including giants like the Bronto. From my testing it seems like the DPS of my Pachyrhino (now lvl 200) is similar to that of my lvl 210 Carno and only slightly lower than that of my lvl 200 Rex. This has to be one of the most underrated creatures in the game.

I used a lvl 100 tame pachyrhino to tame my 140 megalosaurus :) the first tranq ride the rhyno (the farts keep everything else off you) after that surround with pillars and fart away til it wakes up and repeat!

They take less torpor to the head than the body

Not sure about other platforms, but on the Switch, the mist it sprays gives you Swamp Fever. And now, I have to go massacre some rhinos..

I ser multiple people saying this is a great early tame...if you dont have repellant you're gonna have a tough time as it's torpor drops like a puny saiyan in 10x gravity. Lvl 10 takes about an hour on mejos and if you blink it will wake up. Recommend already having a berry dino beforehand to gather narcs as you tame. Saddles for this and other newer rideables dont have saddles in prim+ yet

These guys are good for travelling with a bunch of dinos because they have mist that makes creatures stop attacking so if your getting attacked you can stop them and keep going.

#1 best dino to raid deinonychus nests. It cannot be latched onto, it has decent health and the deinonychus are addicted to purple gas, just remember that the deinonychus will attack you as soon as you dismount a pachyrhino even if you use the gas and also they are slow as all hell.

Beware when they use their spray when almost dead. They can give you Swamp Fever

It is very annoying to fight, as when it sustains enough damage it will spray a cloud of pink mist which will drain all stamina on you and your mount (if riding). It is relatively faster than a trike, so it can get away fast

Did you know the hidden buff drains stamina fast?

That is VERY useful when in a fight.

Some people say pachyrhino’s calm chemical reduces the creature’s food when taming. I tried it and all it did was nothing and just reduced the stamina to negative. I don’t know if im doing it wrong or its just not on mobile.

This dinos head acts like a shield. Bullets do significantly less damage. If uve got turrets ahead of it and they hit the head then it does less damage to the dino. Possibly better than turtle.

Pachyrinosaurus are usually found in redwoods

They have both a passive spray and and aggro spray that calms/enrages nearby Dinos respectively. Can be very helpful when taming or when fishing, as even normally passive Dinos will attack you.

If you are searching for them on mobile in ragnarok they are at the lava area between Viking bay and Highland, happy taming everyone, very great at aggroing non aggressive dinos

They spawn near the castroides in the centre. Be careful knocking out though because they can run into the water

Attacks very quickly and has decent knockback. Stunlocked an alpha raptor to death with my level 90 one once.
