These little guys are one of the most loyal creatures in ark. I once died to a carno immediately after taming an otter. She was a low level so I thought, welp she’s dead. It was only a few days later that I got the message that my otter died. I went to where the carno was and he was super low. She fought hard till the end. RIP Scarlett. :(

Two facts they can keep you worm because of there fur and if you kill a fish and grab it he will eat it out of your hand even when it’s on your back hope u liked my facts sorry if this was a waste of time🦦

On mobile passive taming with fish meat also if you lost a tame touch “tames”then Teleport the creature you lost

Use an Argie with its beak carry option and then just carry up fish and feed it

Pluck one right out of the water with your argys beak, land, drag fish over, not only will your argy hold the otter from running they'll even bend down to you so you can feed the otter. Make sure argy is set to passive, RIP too many potential pets........

I found a otter.. but it's not showing anything to feed.. please help

In order to tame it you have to feed it fish. On ark mobile you can feed it meat but otherwise, dead fish not meat. Some tamed are passive and knock out, these are just passive. Do not be fooled. I tried to when killing them for implants to revive them (ark mobile) for a dear ol’ mate for my girl poppy. They knocked out and could not be fed when knocked.

I found one near south zone 1 where the big beach is opposite. Was gonna tame it but I was a noob back then and I punched it. Utterly murdered me ;-;

its says the food taming goes sabertooth salmon then piranha then colanath but you can tame one insta with 15x colnath but not tame insta with even a large piranha. and large piranhas i never really see

If your on mobile DO NOT LISTEN TO DODODEX! otters eat raw fish meat on mobile.

You can tame it with any kibble on mobile but it only adds 5.1 percent so I do not recommend it

I don't know if I can call it luck but I just found 3 otters lvl 150(yes, all 3) cilling in the swamp near the Redwoods. I managed to tame only 1 'cause of kapros... Btw I am playing ark mobile and i noticed that otters are not tameable in the usuaal mode, with dead fishes,you have to feed them fish meat. I hope that helps and pls vote up so dododex update the taming method for ark mobile

So, these guys are hard to tame if you don’t know how, so what you need to do, is make a small thatch structure with walls, then get any flyer that can grab small creatures, and grab them out of the water, then once you put the otter in the safe structure, you get raw prime fish meat *on mobile atleast* from sabertooth salmon, [caution! Sometimes they fight back!] and then atleast get five raw prime fish meat, in case they rot, and tame your otter! They are passive tamers, don’t knock them out! Then bring your little friend home one your shoulders

These guys are the hardest to breed! There so small that you can’t put them in a a very small thatch or wood structure, you need to breed them In a cage, and try to breed them like that

Ragnarok, cave behind the waterfall in the corner of viking bay, one small entrance easy to block, otters and salmon spawn in the water, upv0te so people can get easy otters!

You can use the radar ability of the Parasaur to find Otters in the water. They are marked with a red "enemy" ping. Just have to make sure, it is an Otter and not a Piranha

Don't worry for fellows (who at least have a flyer) are looking for a new Otter!

Need: fish meat, in Ark Mobile it's now fish meat instead of fish so to not be confused, stop holding the fish and just harvest it. Next, A Flyer that you can highlight the grabbed creature (show its name, level, taming effectiveness, etc), i.e Argentavis.

Tame: I highly recommend certain spots by the Dododex (no I'm not contacting you) community to find certain spots, now if you have a wild Otter in your grasp do NOT press any button except move and your hotbar, or else it will be over for the Otter, now wait for it to be hungry and then move your camera a little bit to find the spot where it is able to yellow highlight the Otter, then Feed. Repeat this for how many times you need to and you have an otter with nothing able to do anything to it (except you and your argy)

Parasaurs on wild dino turret mode will alarm over otters. Super helpful when trying to find them in murky water! Just bring or tame a parasuar and then follow the little red circle.

On mobile at least you can tame with just fish meat this is how I tamed my otter
