On mobile at least you can tame with just fish meat this is how I tamed my otter

If you play on mobile you can feed them raw prime or Fish meat to them and tame it that's how I got a pair of otters easily

Took more than 3 sabertooth salmon to tame a level 135 otter.

You can use the radar ability of the Parasaur to find Otters in the water. They are marked with a red "enemy" ping. Just have to make sure, it is an Otter and not a Piranha

Don't worry for fellows (who at least have a flyer) are looking for a new Otter!

Need: fish meat, in Ark Mobile it's now fish meat instead of fish so to not be confused, stop holding the fish and just harvest it. Next, A Flyer that you can highlight the grabbed creature (show its name, level, taming effectiveness, etc), i.e Argentavis.

Tame: I highly recommend certain spots by the Dododex (no I'm not contacting you) community to find certain spots, now if you have a wild Otter in your grasp do NOT press any button except move and your hotbar, or else it will be over for the Otter, now wait for it to be hungry and then move your camera a little bit to find the spot where it is able to yellow highlight the Otter, then Feed. Repeat this for how many times you need to and you have an otter with nothing able to do anything to it (except you and your argy)

Parasaurs on wild dino turret mode will alarm over otters. Super helpful when trying to find them in murky water! Just bring or tame a parasuar and then follow the little red circle.

If u want to tame it and don’t wanna put it in a trap worried that it will escape then pick it up with Petra and while carrying it the entire time feed it and it can’t escape

So hard to tame, they always run off or get killed by Puranas.

Get a preodactyal, fly over body off water, pick up otter, taming pen, BOOM

I reccomend taming it when you are a low level so you don't kill it.

Try to tame them in a water pen the dead fish often get in your way on land just make sure the otter is safe

When breeding, make sure to have a lot of fish meat prepared as they eat very quickly... also keep an eye on the food timer as they somes don’t eat for a seconds and make them serve...

Ya don’t want it to run away? ARK mobile players can use a pteranodon, or anything else that can carry the otter, to pick it up and bring it to an enclosed space in your base. There, you can feed it fish.

Use snow owl thermal ability to easily spot these little critters! Turned hours of searching in to minutes of searching!

As far as i know this only works on Asa PC.

All needed is an argy and a melee weapon for killing fish. Find you desired otter and pick it up by pressing C, this picks up the otter in the argys mouth. Only by pressing C again will the argy drop is you can land,take off, and dismount without dropping the otter. Now its jus fly around to fish locations kill fish an feed other.

Xtra tip: Turn of allied dino looking it s a pain with the bird looking around.

The easiest way is to grab them in the beak of an argy! Then you can drag a dead fish to it without it moving. makes it very quick, easy, efficient and safe
