If you're looking for them on Aberration, bring a Parasaur with Turret Mode to a river in the Fertile Zone. For whatever reason, Otters are classified as enemies, so the Parasaur can find them easily! Got like 12 of them thanks to this.

Otters likes shalow lakes and watterfalls. Best way to tame otter is to kill all salmons around it, cause corpses has long time before it disappears and straight away feed them without any intervals cause they dont have cooldown on feeding time. After tame pick it up and you will get insulation from cold. Leveling otter is best to give all stats to oxygen as it increase insulation resistance. And you will forget biome struggle :) good luck finding them.

They may be adorable, but if you hurt them or their fuzz buddies, they will become angery, and can actually do pretty decent damage. I'm a level 100 player with around 250 HP and when unarmored, 7 can kill me in seconds. They also can do a number on your armor. Otherwise, they are cute and cuddly and friendly.

If you really want one it takes about 4 minutes to tame a level 5 and 6 fish meat in mobile

Just remember where the otter is then kill a fish and boom tamed

When you are taking them you have to drag fish to them but once they are tamed you can just give them fish meat (I did not know that)

You can pick them up with a pteranodon and feed him fish while going to your base. Very easy method

They are so hard to find when you are on a save that doesn’t have otters at all but full of terror birds and raptors. -_-

Bring an Argentavis, use right stick to pick up the otter in it’s mouth. Now you can tame it without chasing it around. Set the Argy to passive so it doesn’t kill the otter trying to defend you if something attacks mid-tame.

You can tame these by fish too.

I play on a ps4 with admin commands and got a lol 200 with a blondy color it was so cute!!!

Have 2 people taming it. One watching and following it and the other getting fish, if there is only one you will probably lose then as they are good swimmers

On Aberration having trouble taming otters? Use a crab pick it up dip claw in water now otter is high enough to tame. No more dead fish blocking feeding prompt. Still tricky but faster by far. Tilting crab on rock or slight grade on side of river helps to dip claw, deeper pools also.

You need and icthyornis to catch fish and the you drag the fish to it and hand feed the otter to tame

I saw one of these guys while I was looking for a anky and it said above him feed titanboa kibble. Can you feed otters kibble?

For a level 42 otter, raw fish increased tame bar by 14.2% and raw prime fish meat went up by around 42.7%.

Might be off by a couple of decimals and will obviously decrease in effectiveness as otter level increases!

I’m no expert but I think I’ve found the best way to tame these guys. All you need is an Argentavis and 5-8x primitive spears. Our plan is to snatch the otter from the surface of the water with the Argy’s mouth grab (click right stick or C on pc). This part might seem a lil daunting but I believe in you. Once you’ve scooped up the otter keep it in the mouth of the Argy and find a nice body of water with plenty of sabertooth salmon. Land on the shore close to the water (the otter will stay in the argys mouth). Now use the primitive spears to kill sabertooth salmon (or any large fish). When killing a fish with primitive spears it will automatically start dragging the body. Now here comes the best part. With the otter in the Argys mouth which will be raised above you, it is actually possible and super simple to feed the fish to our otter friend. You now have an Otter with none of the headache.

I have 6! 4 of them are common colors, 1 is green and magenta, and the other is pink and purple!

Okay, so the way I tamed them is simply by first: kill any dinosaurs near it or in range of otter, next eat a rare flower, then it will come up to you and nibble on your argy (preferred mount cuz it can pick up the otter in beak), then use a ithyornis (or a weapon to kill the sabertooth salmon if you don’t have a ithy yet), then drag the magical (or less magical) fish over to the otter and feed it!

Worked 10/10 for me (it can get a bit annoying when the fish keeps getting in your face)

Try to tame it when you mount the araneo(the spider) it well be easy tame and just use some shooting balm
