They are a rare shoulder pet, you find them in rivers, they are very useful though, they can warm you in cold climates, they are the only tame (that I know of) that can hold multiple of each artifacts, and they can be set on wander to collect black pearls and silica pearls over time. 🦦

Heres an easy tip to find em cuties: where a spino spawns, an otter spawns

Find out can tame it while carry with argy.. put fish meat on hot bar and tap on fish meat while flying (mobile)

On genesis if you teleport arctic north you can find otters on the frozen lake it's a lot easier since they tend to run around on the lake and not swim in the water, they also usually have blue,brown, or black in their color schemes

At the right corner of redwoods by the swamp

Run away from the horrific beast go and tame it

You can find them between swamp and redwoods

For mobile users, these cute little ones are the best way for getting black pearls

1 get your self to the hidden lake with your otter

2 carry the otter on your shoulder

3 get in the pond and whistle attack on the fish

4 swim close to the targeted fish and let the otter do its job

This method have a high rate almost one of 2 or three fishes will give you a black pearp

Somehow my lvl23 gives me about 425 hypothermic insulation. The hell game... I’m not against my cute little scarf bro being useful as heck though. I love these guys

To tame one don’t punch it will have a 0% chance of getting knocked out tame it with raw fish in your hot bar or drag a fish over to it a dead one okay

On mobile you passive tame with raw fish meat! For a level 20, 1 raw fish gave a 9.4% taming so it took around 11 fish meat to tame. After the first feeding interval, it got hungry again after around 30 seconds each time.

Who like to tame just pick it from petra and just feed it it's the best way to tame it don't waste more time on following tha otter

Akane- Otters are usually found in Redwoods and South. You can find them in shallow water most of the time, Mobile taming: Kill Sabertooth Salmon, Piranhas and anything that gives fish meat before attempting to tame, It’s easier. If you’re not on mobile simply drag dead fish towards the otter and feed it.

Besides being able to carry multiples of the same artifact. Every point put into stamina on the otter increases the hypothermal insulation your character receives while holding it.

Anybody that hats Ark has probably never seen the otter

Otters will also farm not only silica pearls but black pearls. It is a great substitute for killing those weird underwater scorpion things.
