Things to bring

1.) Bug repellant

2.) Flak/Chitin Armor (or higher)

3.) Spiked walls (wood or metal is fine)

4.) A handy ranged weapon (Rifle, SG, Fab. Pistol, AR, etc.)

5.) Narcotics (If ur looking into taming something)

6.) A durable pike (Doesn’t have to be apprentice or higher)

7.) Food and Water (duh)

8.) Tames that allow knock back (not needed btw)

9.) Your confidence to face these annoying fu-

If you have all of these then you’re set to explore the lava caves. And whatever you do, don’t fricken die.

(Im the person who submitted the tip starting with: This bat does the same amount of damage as the Carno 35 damage). To tame the bat, you must have bug repellent on to prevent the creature from attacking you. You must non-violently/passively tame it meaning you feed it by NOT KNOCKING IT OUT, the best food to use is raw prime meat.

I hope this is helpful because this creature is perfect for a bodyguard.

Tip: They do extra damage against armour and destroy it quickly making this tame useful for pvp.

When the onyc sees you, it will slowly fly towards you. However, if you attack it, onyc will fly much faster until killed or you go out of targeting range.

Probably the easiest way to tame theses guys is to make a 1 foundation hut, draw him to it, get him stuck by placing down your last wall, walk away until you lose agro, then use bug repellent

Found in almost any cave, the Onyc is an absolute nightmare for the unprepared.

Should these things land and when they land, you can pick them up and use them as a weapon?

Careful of their swarm in Lava caves they will gank you and quickly surround you and push u just little on every hit ... Make sure you have wall behind you and stand with your back against it while fighting them ... Or else Lava ...

It's a slower, but more accurate and powerful version of the Dimorph. It can't carry a lot, move fast or take down larger creatures. but a good distraction/sacrificial lamb or decorative pet.

These guys give you mega rabies btw so be careful

If you breed these enough times, get lucky with mutations and all, the Oync becomes a force to be reckoned with, and in groups, will cause devastating amounts of damage.

Its a great creature for Defense and protecting bases.

Quick tip: If you want to tame an Onyc you can simply go in a cave with an Arthropluera since you won't aggro anything and you'll be able to feed them without having to get off them ;)

Just forcetamed one and was able to ride it and it looked VERY silly.

If trying to tame on center be careful cause it may fly up into the skybox right when it is tamed.

On Raganorok I had just tamed a pteradon at the Viking bay, I flew over the mountain with my pteradon to the castle I landed on the top of it and all of a sudden I get swarmed by onycs and since my pteradon had no stam we got swarmed and my pteradon “Perry” was killed and I tried to avenge him with my crossbow but was killed! RIP Perry

Some of the bats are infected with super mega rabies witch will massacre you and if you have it you will infecte anyone near
