Tips & Strategies

What are tips for moschops? Tips and strategies for moschops in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
The Moschops is in my opinion the best starter dino, on a new survivor I always make finding this guy my first priority….reasons?
1. No saddle needed.
2. Can quickly gather the essentials like fibre/thatch/berries…
3. They’re actually rather fearsome when ridden, they can easily fight off dilo’s and wrestle with trikes/turtles…..if you tame a higher level Moschops and level in melee and hp you can comfortably engage with bigger threats like raptors and carno.
4. Eating one Trilobite provides enough Chitin to make a Petra saddle….which is usually my second priority on a new survivor.
5. Can be tamed with just a few Tinto or Mejoberry….if it wants something ridiculous like honey just save/reload until you get the easy option…
6. Moschops will always tame at 100% effectiveness as you either have what it wants or you don’t.
Cons: It’s pretty slow but still significantly safer than travelling on foot. Its stamina regen is painfully slow.
Summary: A Moschops will allow you to hit the ground running during your first day or two on the ark. Their ability to collect a wide range of resources while keeping you safe from threats is everything you need in a starter mount.
If you raise your Moschops for battle you may be surprised at just how powerful they can be….the base damage of their bite is 32 and has a fairly wide AOE….my Warchops has successfully fought Rex and Spinos and demolished countless Raptors.
Berries won’t take long the higher level the more berries you will need.
I have no idead why. But if you get a higher level moschops and train it a bit, then you can make the ultimate battle creature. I have a level 175 with 15k health and over 1000% attack damage. It does 380 damage a hit and can easily kill a bronto
Find a really low level one so that way it only takes one bite of food
Possibly one of the best early tames. As long as it just wants berries it’s an insanely easy tame. I tamed a 145 almost straight from spawn and not needing a saddle means you can use it straight away. It had good melee and decent health and basically allowed me to just protect myself early game.
Put everything you need to tame it in a bin or fridge. Build a cage around it. Use flyer to pick it up and drop it in the cage. Worked very well for me.
If you use rare flowers on mobile the taming effectiveness will not decrease
If you see these guys you can tame it without making it unconscious but if you have to wait until it is hungry it will change on what it wants to eat.
They are pretty annoying but master at gathering resources
If you hit him I’m I would like to know what server you play in
On mobile they like tinto berries more then mejo berries ! Spread the word !!!!
Should definitely be one of your first tames if you can find one that takes mejos,
Beach areas all over The Island, shouldn't have a problem finding them at all, as they are very common.
