Megatheriums were types of ground sloths that were bigger than elephants, they were 7 meters tall and unlike normal sloths, it was too big to climb trees, hence the name ground sloth, hope you enjoyed the lesson.

To be complety honest, the funniest thing about the megathirum isn't the sloth itself, but how it translated into the ice age films. Sid is supposed to be a megathirum but he frankly looks nothing like one aside from the claws. How blue sky created sid from this creature is beyond me
