Tips & Strategies

Note: the normal Megalosaurus does fall asleep on Aberration, while the aberrant one does not. I thought that the normal one wouldnβt fall asleep either, but then I tested that theory...

Without a doubt the Bess mount for the islands bosses
Can defeat all variants of all island bosses with ease
Just be sure to go at night and bring 1 yuti and or 1 theri, the boss will completely ignore megalosaurus and come after you, but in the process get trapped by 18 ferocious megalosaurusβs
Just keep your squad between you and the boss and you are golden (be careful with dragon fire breath)
Good luck using this absolute beast of a Dino.
Is this in fjordur? thumbs up if yes thumbs down if no, I'm really curious and I don't see anything about it.
problaby the most underrated creature in ark this thing is a beast, while they are hard to tame they can do up to 100 (night) and take on a rex bro they need more attention! every like is another person liking the megalosaurus
The megalosaurus is one of the strongest therapods, but its nocturnal sleeping pattern make it significantly less effective during the day. The megalosaurus can bite and even latch onto enemies β including humans β and swing them around, hindering their ability to move. This carnivore is stronger than a Carno or a Rex at night, but during the day, it is much more slow and sluggish.~Steel Cookie 123
Where this little dudes shine is abberation
Megalo donβt get targeted by basically anything up so more people can see this
We need a coffe update for this thing
These guys are a must-have in Aberration; they are always awake (at least in the bioluminescent area), and thus always have their night buff. Of course, this also means you must always be wary of wild ones while in their territory.
they get boosted in night time
I would totally recommend one of these guys, even on maps like the island. Pump some health, melee, and even a little weight and speed and you got yourself free hide in one night. Also microraptors are almost no problem with a megalosaurus, just dismount (you'll still be in the megalos back) and let the megalo grab the microraptor and chomp him up for you. Besides sleeping and being crap during the day, these guys are mini rexes on steroids.
