Absolutely tame these guys during the day. Yes they wake up but they move much more slowly and seem to have a less powerful attack, although don’t quote me on that. I can tell you for sure that every time i tried knocking one out whilst it was awake at night, it tore through my armour me and then my tame faster than I could squeK

Planning to beat bosses with only these.

How to tame one of these beasts

First:tame an araneo i have written a tip for taming an araneo some days ago so you can get some help

Second : these are only found in clever caves so mount your araneo and go to clever cave dont forget tranq darts not arrows

Third :they sleep in day and then woke up in night so its better to tame them in day

Fourth :craft some doorframes and fences to make trap

Fifth:make trap like this find a megalosaurus and then find a very thin place place fence there and place 2 stone doorframes one at bottom and one at top

Sixth : lure megalosarus in trap it will be busy in breaking the doorframe and on that time you can fire tranq darts on him

Seventh:after their torpor will be high so they will start running so careful of this

Eight: feed its preffered kibble oviraptor kibble or if you dont have oviraptor kibble so then feed it shooting balm and raw prime meat

Boom you have tamed a megalosaurus

Its saddle unlocks at level 57

These guys can be introduced to you on The Island and Scorched Earth within caves. During day they sleep by night they are awake. They are much more of a threat if you encounter them on Aberration as they are awake all the time like any other dino. They are kind of like an allo with kapro’s grab. Megalos are primarily found within Aberration’s red and blue zones.

They are in mobile! They are only in the artifact of the clever cave Though

So I play mobile single player pretty exclusively, which means I have NO use for a megalo. After playing for a while, I’ve found I’m not happy unless I have one of these things sleeping on my floor. I’m sure they’re useful for night raids, but again, I don’t do that. Have to be honest though, if you decide to ride it around at night, you’ll realize absolutely nothing attacks you or even runs away

Do not leave ark while taming this,the cave will reset and it will gone!,from my experience,aw man,at least I find one with higher level :)

One of the best mounts to start with in aberration

He live in the blue area (Maybe in other cave area) on Aberrations, but never at "surface", just becarefull ! The Megalosaurus is always buffed and can't sleep on Aberrations ! If he catch you, end is near ! (He is irradiated, so it's a nice fighter in Rock Drake nest because he don't take any radiation damage)

Run when you see it at night a lvl 20 killed my 197 argy within a min

Megalos are soooooooo good on Ab because they never have to sleep so they are beasts

Are these things found in the same cave as that artho/centipede creature?

Be wary that the Megalosaurus received a major nerf in the form of the latest raptor TLC. Raptors can now dismount Megalosaurus riders and seem to attack them on sight. Megalosaurus often use their grab attack while the raptor will still have you pinned even while it is in the Megalosaurs mouth. The raptors allies will then proceed to eat you and then kill you in that order.

To battle and escape the megalosaurus you need very strong armor, a giant trap, and some nice arrows to knock it out. If you want to tame it, you need very strong armor to protect yourself. Then you need a giant trap a bunch of tranq Arrows Wait, 3 to 5 seconds before you shoot another arrow. Make sure to have multiple traps just in case escapes. I’ve learned from my mistakes. Trust me. ( you died from a lvl 150 megalosaurus)😭😭😭😭😭

Step 1. Find one in a cave unless your on aberration the trap it

Step 2. Tranq it and give it food

Step 3. Make sure it is night unless your on aberration

If it's not night the megalosaurus could be sleep deprived and won't work and will be sharply debuffed so use them at night and again unless your playing on aberration.

I found my first Megalosaurus in the Cave of the Clever... I got sandwiched between Three Megalosaurus and 2 Anthroplurea and their minions and died.

To the mobile person who doesn’t know where to find them, they are mostly found in the middle chamber, I only found one while going for the artifact, so it might be near the onyc, araneo or the other creepies, just be careful before you get off your mount to get the artefact.

Doesn’t sleep during the day in aberration, also means it won’t wake up when it turns night

These guys are a pain in the butt do not go in caves unless you really prepared
