Be cautious while taming. Your megalodon WILL attract other megalodons once tamed, just like ichys. Make a saddle while taming so you can head to base ASAP, or exterminate any nearby wild megalodons. If you kill other nearby sharks, you'll get some prime fish meat to help speed the taming process!

Building a trap is completely unnecessary for taming sharks as they are very slow. Just use a fast mount that allows you to shoot from the saddle - preferably a sarco or bary, but an ichthy will do just fine as well.

Shoot it until with tranqs til it gets close, then swim a little ways away to reposition, and rinse/repeat. I'd recommend going back-and-forth or in a circularish pattern so you minimize the number of other threats that will get involved.

When it's KO'd, other ocean critters will leave it alone. The only thing to worry about at that point is other animals attacking it when it finishes taming, so it's a good idea to come back just before it finishes and draw the aggro of any other sharks etc that spawned while you were waiting so they attack you instead of your new friend.

You can hit n run it with an ichi

If your going to take an meg make sure that if their is a pack you kill or lead the med that you don’t want away

Here’s how to tame a Megalodon:

1-Tame an Icthyosaurus with 20-25 meat, then make it a saddle.

2-Bring 15-20 narcotics, 20 tranq arrows, crossbow/bow, 30-40 meat and go to an area where Megalodons are located(Usually in Herbivore Island).

3-Icthyosaurus have a special ability where creatures won’t get agro to you, unless you bite them with the icthyosaurus, so bite the Megalodon you found with your icthyosaurus, and lead it to shallow water or a nearby shore.

4-Once you are done leading it to shallow water or a shore, start firing tranq arrows at the Megalodon.(You can dismount your icthyosaurus, or fire while you are sitting on the back of your icthyosaurus).

5-When it’s knocked out, put the meat in it’s inventory, and use the narcotics when it’s torpor is getting low and wait until it’s tamed.

And now you have a Megalodon :D

Name suggestions: Poseidon(God of the Seas)— Bruce— Noah— Ocean Jaws— Jaws— Underwater T-Rex.

Use scuba flippers a decent damage crossbow and you'll have the Meg knocked out in no time because you can swim faster then a wild Meg with flippers your welcome no pen needed no other animal needed just you and arrows just don't don't swim backwards to long......it'll catch you

So i log in the game and there is a glitch the Megalodon is out of water and is unconscious and I had some meat and I tamed it I had to kill some of my Dino’s tho

to those who have thalassophobia and wants to go in ocean on ark, try to practice yourself diving with an itchy below surface and roam so your anxiety will lessen until its gone completly.

after that try to tame megalodon using itchy or bary (use bary if you're not still fine with your phobia) because bigger aquatic mount empowers your mind for you to be not scared.

if you're done taming your first megalodon, congratulations cuz you just wasted your time and scared yourself in ocean hehehe

They seem intimidating, but they're surprisingly an easy tame. Personally what always worked best for me was attracting them to shore, placing a bunch of dead dodos on the shoreline. The shark would get stuck in the ground, then I would use a long rifle with tranq darts and shoot it in the head.

If you need a megalodon I would recommend bringing 2 stacks of meat with you here are the steps: 1.craft the necessary trans 2.knock out the highest level 3.put in the meat 4.if it’s a really high level use narcotics to keep it asleep. Enjoy your new megalodon

These are quite hard tames until you realise their turn speed is horrible, then it’s so easy. Keep straining side ways and they can’t bite you. Tamed 2 at the same time solo

Make sure there no other nearby megalodon because they aggro to your megalodon which is all ready low lost 3 megalodon because of this so ether kill the rest of them or tame them too -rungunsss

When your finished taming it on ark mobile and you Meg gets 30 level ups 3 level ups for heath and then ready is for stamina because they have TRASH stamina I mean TRASH

First off, get a whole bunch of these. You get your mantas or itchy(if you're on mobile), swim into an army of beasts, attract all of them into shallow water, and use your spyglass to see which ones you want. Then kill the ones you don't want with a good Dino or weapon(I used dire bear). After that block them off from the sea so that they can't run away and yeet them with tranques. They are unconscious for a super long time so don't worry about constantly hovering over the,.you don't need a pen or anything just make sure nothing interferes. Then you got yourself like 10 Megalodons.

How to tame: First, find your meg. Once you find one, lead it close to shore and start shooting it with tranquilizer arrows by dragging them on a crossbow. Once it becomes unconscious, feed it raw fish meat. Use prime fish meat to tame faster or a soothing balm. If you can’t get either one, feed it narcotics to keep it unconscious while it tames. Enjoy your new meg!

Stay on your raft and tranq them

It is easy to kill if you have sword and hit it a couple times.

South Haven is a great spot to look for these to tame, especially in the bay in the middle of the island, all you have to do to tame one there is kill all the fish in there besides the megalodon you want (I suggest using a baronyx to kill the other fish with its stun ability) and then tranquilizer the one you want with a crossbow.

To tame make sure you bring guards with you, when there's one, there is usually others
