Megalodon have quite a big turning circle. Pump movement to at least 120% and go find one using a scuba suit, get next to it but a bit towards it's tail end, shoot with tranq arrows and it will circle round and round until its KO'd. Enjoy your new pet!

Your best defense is a fast water mount.

Thanfully these are fairly slow compared to other marine creatures. Your best defence is a water mount. A Sarco, mantas and Itchys can easily outrun them.

They have a very large agro range though and will come and sneak up on you if your not careful.

They look scary but they are actually really weak unless you tame it

I tamed a itchy and just used it as a distraction to shoot tranq arrows (sorry for my bad English)

There a good tame here’s how I did it

1) lure it to shore

2)tranq it normally with 10 arrows

3)feed it meat

4) you have a megalodon

BE CAREFUL because once it’s yours all the other sharks around you will attack it and it sucks I’ve had like 4 die this way

Dont be scared pf them, is all you need to think about when playing ark basically, is easy this mf sleep more than me after school, just lure them and on a safe place give them meat, just eith that if its a high lvl itll need sum narcotics, like 100, but 100 for a fcking shark is too little, and with just that sleep and itll be tamed

This should be stronger than a mosa. They were in real life. One would be able to replicate a megalodon bite by taking a school bus, then covering the bottom with railroad spikes, then put two more school buses on top of it, and then dropped on something. It was larger than a mosa, faster than a mosa, and try to imagine anything surviving what I just described.

Megas, Alpha and standard, are beaten easily by Sarcos and Barys.

Sarcos have high movement speed and can outmaneuver Alphas alongside being able to run to shore when injured, meanwhile Barys can pull a “jellyfish” and stunlock the Mega to death.

You can absolutely trap them with dino gates attached underneath a raft. Drive the raft over the mega, then dismount to trap. Leave a hole in the box to shoot from above water. GG

You can tame these fairly early with a baryonyx by tail whipping it and tranqing it while riding

I waited at shore were one was in inti it came and shot it constantly intil it was knocked out

Wltoys will need a trap when ever I tried to tranquil one it ran away first shot

if you want to tame a low level megalodon first tame an ichty then lure the meg to shore where it will stop chasing you the. shoot it with tranq arrow from crossbow keep repeating until it knocks out then get your ichty and then and go towards the meg if your beginner use meat or raw fish meat regular meat is better btw after feeding the meg the right amount just wait until it tames and you got your self a meg. side note your meg is low level you can level it up or use the low level meg to tame a higher level one and this trick also works with higher level megs but just harder.

For one, should be close to 75-100 feet long.

Have the damage a little less than the mosa, and realistically should be able to swim faster and jump out of the water and bite. Right now its about the size of 4 humans laying down. 6 feet. Which means 24 feet total, a little bigger than the average Great White today. Its obviously much much bigger and should be around 75-100 feet long. Should do atleast 125 damage on level one. And that might sound like a lot but im being realistic. And realistically, it would do closer to 500 damage irl. It could easily tear apart a Full grown elephant today. Its bite force its strong enough to bite through metal, yet it cant one shot a human. I know the devs are just trying to make things more interesting, but cmon man its obviously stupid to get close enough to get bit by one. They should be able to swim about the speed of a icthy, be close to 100 feet long. Approximately 15 humans fully short in ark long. Should be able jump out of the water and bite. Should swim alot faster. Level 1 should have close to 2000 hp, should do around 125-150 hp on level 1. These are my opinions based on scientific investagations and research. I hope the devs fix this. Sorry for misspelled words or bad grammar in general.

First comment is FAKE. Megalodon is actually the one-in-not-so-many creatures in ARK that is over sized. Turn to tpp and you would find this beast is actually huge. It’s just that other creatures are just way too big. In the world we are in, Megalodon should be the biggest predator in the sea. Although creatures in ARK is pretty much made up, but as reference to the real world it is sad that megalodon is still poor in design even after the buff(made it a piranha basically）

i have i tip to get there tooth first you need to do the task name tame a ithcy then they will give you free saddle for them in now get close to the meg in hit him until he die ithcys like a raptor in the sea

Megalodons make great starter water mounts. They do good damage and have a fair amount of health. Later in the game where you can breed high level sharks and have packs of them, they make for one of the best water tames in groups!

Pretty slow and not very good with weight, but a pack of these guys will butcher just about anything

My level 4 bronto got killed by these guys,really annoying when lots attack at once
