If you go into shallow enough water, then they won’t attack you.

So a few minutes ago I was just swimming in the water when I saw a megalodon attacking something above the water I came closer it was not attacking me came even closer it was still not attacking me I came less than a inch away from it and something dropped beneath the water….dead I looked at it it said pelagornis (dead) I looked at it more and soon realized the megalodon was swimming my way I tried to swim away but soon realized there was no hope and accepted my fate… I was killed .so when you see something in the water that looks like a oversized shark…RUN!!!

A good way to find them on the island is to go to herbivore island and you’ll find some usually

You can usually see these guys before they actually get to you so that’s good

I’d say pretty good starter mount to Start your under water adventures. When you encounter the Megalodon there’s not much about it besides the bite and it’s quite slow when it tries to attack you if you ha e some Oxygen pumped into your character you can easily out swim it would make it easier to tame

I Escaped the Megalodon 1 time and to Escape the Megalodon is to swim to a rock and wait until the Megalodon is gone and You can Leave the rock

Easy way to kill spin to win get it to follow you and spin around will work use 3rd for extra sight

Surprisingly easy to kill if you have an ichthyosaurus, they won’t attack if you’re just riding around, and if you attack from behind they won’t fight back for some reason.

A lot spawn in the ocean next to the foot paw region

I was shark hunting. Too lazy to wait for meat to spoil, I set out on my Icthy named Swordfish and attacked a shark. 2 more spawned and one was opposite gender! The shark I originally attack was at 81 HP. I killed it and the other sharks harvested it then attacked me! I found a solo shark, and it didn’t attack back. This happened again with another solo shark. Why? I have no idea.

You are just wanting to go for a swim when suddenly you see a megalodon. You try to swim away but you can't out swim a shark. He will take a bite out of you and break a bone then leave but come back to finish you off with a final blow.
