1. Ride on Ichthyosaurus since nothing will agro on you in the water unless you feed a basilosaurus food and mantas see that.

2. Crossbow ONLY with tranqs or longneck rifle with darts to knock it out.

3. Have some bio toxin beforehand (10 is more than enough)

4. Feed raw or prime meat because fish meat is less effective.

5. You have got yourself a shark pet.

Relatively easy tame just make sure not to call the big bois THICC FEESH or they will get VERY AMGERY

X-type 140 took me about 140 arrows with prim crossbow .

Basically the raptor of the sea: annoying and everywhere

Not going to lie, the easiest way to tame these is by using a Icthy, they are so easy to juke Megalodons with while you shoot them with tranqs using your crossbow.

I killed three of them while riding a sarco

You can unlock their saddle relatively early in the game.

Just aggro the megalodon and stand on the shore when you tranq it.

Don't get stuck.

I used 10 tranq arrows with a cross bow and 10 raw meat to tame for a level 10 not 20 raw meat

Was able to trap it in a boat very easy tame that way. Named the boat Orca did not get destroyed...doing better then Flynn...

If you are floating on the water on a pelagornis these guys will eat you right off of your bird so be careful when in deep waters cause they will not hesitate to eat you and your bird

The X type takes about 3x more arrows to knock it out from what i can tell this is the same for most x dinos.

While taming an x meg, use tranq spears instead of darts or arrows, seem to work better for me

The easiest way to kill these guys is to lead them to the shore and for some reason they will glitch and get stuck, letting you get close and personal (without getting attacked) or you can shoot it down with your ranged weapon. I wish I knew that before I lost a perfectly new pteranodon! Every up= RIP for Dwayne and everyone else’s tames lost! 😞

Their new gashing/bleeding effect is deadly even to a high level imprinted basilo solo if they start to swarm you

People say to make it bigger but the size is just fine!

But make it have rip apart attack where it grabs something like the size of a itchy and shred it but it would take some stamina.

They spawn a lot around the red obelisk and the ocean by the most western spawn area

I personally think that meg's are great water mounts who need more love:)

Check the level before killing or taming it because a good high level shark can be very good for deep sea loot crates
