It’s a good harvester for wood thatch and other materials

If your on ragnarok just go in the ice dungeon and farm the ice worm males for a bit. They spawn like every 30 seconds and drop horns and some other valuables

Super easy to tame step one if u have a high lvl wyvern or else go find a death worm and kill it step 2 craft ghillie armour and u need bug spay and go find a mantis and crouch so u don’t get seen once ur very close get up amd run and press 10 that’s the last slot isn’t it and press y on Xbox press triangle on ps

definitely worth getting its like a super human, pump all its points into damage and maybe some into health and weight. this guy gets a lot of any resource and can do tons of damage with an ascendant sword

The mantis has two attacks, the close range hack and slash, as well as a devastating pounce. The pounce attack is long range and does considerably more damage than the hack and slash. Mantis aggro from a considerable distance (as in, if your on foot get out of there fast) so the pounce attack is very deadly. However, fire damage weapons i.e. Wyvern fire, flamethrower etc. do more damage than other rounds, the same goes for other insect/arachnid creatures

Pick it up with a wyvern or an argy and drop it in water, fly far away enough for it to drop agro and and swim up to it but make sure to swim underwater or it will agro and not allow you to feed it

Don't bother with guillie armor or bug repellent. You don't need it.

Pick it up with a compatible flyer and drop it in deep water.

You need a deathworm horn to passive tame it and hey presto!

They drop organic polymer which can be used for ghille armor. Ran into 2 as I was leaving a cave and barely killed them using a pike. Dont ever let your guard down in caves, even when leaving and it was empty before

I would highly suggest taking the mantis you want to tame to the dragon arena out in the desert using a wyvern/quetz. The area is enclosed and allows you to tame the mantis without wild disturbances.

These things jump far . This is a helpful tip, not all helpful tips are that long!!!!!

Ragnarok: Get a dino that mantis don't become aggroed (i did with a wyvern), ghillie suit (not needed but it helps) and bug repellant, go to monster island (because its filled with bugs and you will not be easily aggroed by other dinos), give it a horn and mount the dino again and follow the mantis with him as nothing will target you. Easy tame!

Build a small trap that leads down to the one by one. Have the mantis walk ( lag ) itself in. Then you will be able to feed it through the wall. No need for ghilie or repellent

Go to Eden’s Ring (Rockwell’s Biome) and have a high damage and speed guy and go crazy

You can use something to pick it up and put it into the water, use a ghillie suit and go underneath it with the horns you need to tame it :)))

When taming with rhino horns the interval is lower than stated at the moment. A 90 with rhino horns takes 45 seconds between feedings after the first. Wait too long and you'll lose progress.

You can carry a mantis with anything aslong as you have a grapple, the grapple wont cut and the mantis will fly with you. Usefull for taking a mantis from an enemy element vien.

Put 2 clubs on this bad boy and then be a pvp god

Grab with a crab for easy tame

Breeded tip , you can use spoiled meat

For those of you who want to set a timer: The interval between feeding is exactly 3:40 for wooly horns.
