Not sure how many people know this but you can feed it meat. Not when raising it you have to use sulfur and/or whale poop to to that. But when it’s an adult you can feed it meat instead of stone or metal.

You do not actually HAVE to put them in lava to breed.

What you can do is:

1. Enable mating and hit with wyvern fire, however you will need to bring the a Fire Wyvern in from another map such as Scorched Earth, Ragnarok, Valguero or Ember Crystal Wyverns from Crystal Isles

2. Do the opposite of 1: Upload the Magmasaurs to another map with Wyverns, Such as the examples listed above.

3. Enable Mating, then blast them with a Flame Thrower.

4. Enable Mating. Cover a desired area with oil and make the Magmasaurs stand on said area, then light it up.

WARNING: If you hatch a Magmasaur egg in the bog biome, the rain will KILL the babies.

I hope the the above info was useful to anyone wanting to breed them outside of the volcano biome.

Do NOT put these into a maewing saddle. There is a decently high chance they will come out glitched and unable to be interacted with!

Get a bloodstalker with high speed. Use the webs(left circle on one side, right circle on the other) then hold R2 and L2. This will make you "slingshot" your self further into the cave

I used a bloodstalker and was able to get an egg very easily

I used my blood stalker as a grapple to swoop it and leave

Rock drake's work well for stealing eggs. They can also go invisible.

If you drop the egg it spoils slowly. Ie not in your dropped inventory when you die but actually dropped individually.

Use a primative long neck rife from the other side to agro them away from the spot with the eggs.

Use a rock drake to quickly grab eggs and escape.

Only tested on unofficial with no mods and official settings.

Who think the magma should be in the draconis family along managarmyr,rockdrake,and wyvern

These guys are affected by chain bolas and large bear traps

They can destroy thatch, wood, adobe, stone, metal and tek

Up so everyone can know!

So hide it in a house so it doesn’t get wet.

grab the egg and use an op ferox to kill them

Use a rock drake while invisible and eat cactus broth so they still don’t see you when you dismount but they will see you after you pick up egg….easy.

Some people are encouraging you to teleport just as you grab the egg, but in my experience, there is a better way.Just get either a BS or a Ferox, which shouldn’t be too hard to tame as they are probably the easiest tames of gen 1 dlc.I prefer BS coz u can just web to ceiling after u grab egg, but Ferox is just as effective at traversing the retain of the volcano.With teleporting, you risk getting attacked by magmasaurs as the teleport charged up, so I’d say it’s better to just grab egg and escape using BS or Ferox.

Fjordur: I found using a Desmodus made navigating the fire wyvern trench and the magma cave easy. Good flight speed, the ability to strafe and being able to latch onto walls and cave ceilings to safely recover stamina were an absolute godsend. I managed to steal 4 magmasaur eggs in one run and only suffered minor damage. Found a spot safe from hostile eyes and teleported outta there. Hope others find this helpful.

The best way to raise magmasaur in my opinion is just to heal them with snow owl so you don’t have to go get amberis

Ran in to the cave with a parachute, got on a ledge waited for the magmasaur to walk away began to teleport and a the last second grabbed the egg
