I’ve set up shop at Brawler’s Bay, a beautiful area boasting a double-tiered waterfall and a small bay filled with vibrant coral. The northernmost section of the Western Coast of the Island, Brawler’s Bay borders the Whitesky Peak and the Western Plains.
I decided to take my basilo Slick for his first dive just off the coast. I killed around six sharks and a couple swarms of jellyfish in the bay and then dove into the kelp. I hadn’t been in the deep for more than a minute or two, when what did I spy swimming directly below me but the unicorn of the sea.
The Lio tried attacking me but did no damage, and I swam away from it hoping to escape its interest. I ran right into a pack of eels and killed them quickly, but the Lio swam right in the way and got bit as well. The water swirled around it in a bright whirlpool and the creature vanished without a trace.
Shocked, I swam around a little longer but decided to head for home when I found I was sharing the sea with an alpha shark and a massive tuso.
I knew a lot about ark even when I was really new, but until about 2 months ago, I didn’t think mosa’s, liopluradon (I know I spelt that wrong) and tuso’s didn’t spawn on mobile, so when I saw them on servers I immediately thought “well they must play on pc”. I literally only found out that servers weren’t mixed console a couple months ago too, and that’s kinda embarrassing because I’ve been playing for at least 2 years now 🤦♀️
So, I had one tamed on rag, but halfway through the buff timer I sadly had a death inside the ice cave on rag. So, I went to collect my basi to head towards the Island to try my luck there instead. Upon arriving the Lio was >STILL THERE?!< its tame timer was at 0, and it had shrunk to the size of a jerboa. Oh but it gets better, when I went up to it it gave me a refreshed 6hr buff timer.
The Ark gods are trying to make up for all the times they wiped me 😅😁
The bullet seemed to go in slow motion through the air. It whistled a violent tune as it neared its target.
Both Sean and Nightshade dodged. Nightshade ran at the attackers.
“Watch out, Rook!” The first man yelled, and as both men fled, the Mantis held up a shining claw to block the deadly jaws of the Deinonychus.
It was to no avail. Nightshade was too strong. She bit through the claw, and killed the Mantis almost instantly.
“I don’t have to say it, do I?” Sean smiled, and Nightshade ran off to deal with the attackers while Sean collected meat and chitin from the corpse.
“This place might not be so safe anymore.” Sean mused. “We might have to make a move.”
The first man had escaped. He made his way back to Darklords’s secret fortress, deep in a White Cliffs ravine where they were well hidden. Turrets would pick off any hostiles. You did not mess with Darklords and live.
“Well, someone did.” The first man said to the Grand Generals of Darklords. The first one, Nia, was a woman who favored Wyverns more than any creature, and had a secret fleet (this secret had become common knowledge.) The other, known simply as “Gramps,” was a keen old man know for building massive bronto siege machines.
“This “Sean” is disturbing.” Gramps mused, stroking his beard. “What tribe do you think he was from, Yulock?”
“The Blades of Courage, we believe, sir.” Yulock replied. “He had a very powerful Deinonychus named Nightshade. It killed Rook, our Mantis, and Commander Kalik.”
“A survivor from the Blades of Courage must be quite hardy.” Nia said. “We destroyed them nearly a year ago.”
“We shall tell Grandmaster this... interesting news.” Gramps said. “Good work, soldier. You have delivered vital information.”
Yulock saluted valiantly. “What is my next mission, Grand Generals?” He asked.
Nia was the first to reply. “Hunt down this ‘Sean’... and bring him to us.”
Guards were positioned up and down the Wyvern Trench. Well hidden with Ghillie armor, which also provided protection against the heat, they each held assault rifles. These guards were on important duty.
One of the guards was Yulock. This was not the Darklords. This was the last remaining large tribe besides them, known as the Dragonslayers. Yulock figured that Sean would decide to move to a friendly tribe, and this was the only known friendly tribe left in all of Valguero.
After a few days, Yulock decided to take drastic actions. He fled to the aberration cave. This had been near where Sean was before. But Sean wasn’t there anymore. Instead, there was a purple Deinonychus body lying dead on the ground...
Yulock crept closer to Nightshade’s corpse. He crept back. He fled back into the massive caverns. He would build an army there. And that Deinonychus wasn’t dead...
The redwoods were...an interesting place. Sean had been there before, but he had never really been “Thyla’d.” In truth, he didn’t know what that was.
Of course, until a giant cat dropped from the trees to attack Sean.
Nightshade was there, of course. She had been playing dead to fool that man. Somehow he had escaped.
But the Thyla ripped Sean off his mount.
“Perfect tame!” Sean yelled, fumbling for his Longneck and rapidly firing tranq darts into the furry hide of the beast.
After much too long of a struggle, the Thyla went out cold.
“We’d better find a sheep before this wakes up.” Sean said to Nightshade, who ran off. She soon came back with a plump Ovis from the White Cliffs. They killed it, and fed the mutton to the Thyla.
It soon woke up. Sean stepped back a bit. The Thyla, however, purred happily and nuzzled Sean.
“Let’s name our new friend Timber.” Sean said, noting the gray patches amidst the light scarlet of the thyla’s main coat, and thinking about how they fall out of the trees to kill you.
A saddle wasn’t too hard. Just when they fitted Timber with it, a voice could be heard. Nightshade also smelled a Ravager.
