If you add literally any to player res, you can tame Swamp Puppies at lvl 1.

Mats: None, but if you are new to this strategy, or you have less than 1 player res, level up health until you are level four. (Also maybe use gear and stuff if you are new to this, like hide/cloth or a club)

1. Locate one (they spawn in swamps, and large lakes)

2. Get close enough to agro it, but stay about three kapros away

3. Spam punch and let it grab you

4. Hit it in the face until it's asleep

5. Depending on the map, (mainly lost island or procedural Arks) look for a sheep to kill and feed the Kapro. If not, just get a basic raw meat or a prime

This is the strategy I used when I got back into Ark, last about 1.5 years ago :3

A kapro is a class cannon creature fast on land fast in water and very deadly if you upgrade it's stats correctly don't waste your time on building a trap just go with your tranqs and knock em out most of them have low HP most of them in the 200s use a few narcotics to keep it sleeping and tadaaa! You just got yourself a class cannon creature that can be used to clearing caves if you level his stats correctly level his healt and damage if you don't use a saddle on him if you have a saddle on him keep putting stat points in weight until it reaches 250 or something above and after that put a few skill points on stamina to spam his. Lounge ability to travel to islands faster kapro is just a creature that's used when your bored right now I use him to clear the south island cave I hope this helps

Don't fly near the swamp, AT ALL. I almost lost my triple mutated deinonychus but luckily my Tapejara is fast af. Kapro knocked me off my mount and killed me, but my lvl 401 Deinonychus killed it right as I died, came back and saw it almost dying to a group of high level sarcos, scariest moment of my life.

They are the best pvp mount in the game no doubtAs long as ur the rider

4 defense leave them on agro in the nearest body of water and say shouldnt have done that all as u watch the guy who was going to attack u get summurged and drown 2 death as ur 3 kapros feast on his corpse

Run. I was on a raft exploring the northern part of the map and halfway there I saw 2 Kapros just gnawing on this poor fish and I thought nothing of it because I’ve never been attacked on my raft, so coming back down, a Kapro JUMPED ONTO MY RAFT AND ALMOST HIT ME. Just don’t mess with these guys.

To the person asking what's the use of this, there are quite a few creatures on mobile that have absolutely no uses at all... but not the kapro. Yes, as you say the sarco is better at everything apart from land travel, but did you forget kapro's stamina drain?. It might not seem much on low levels, but get a pair of lv 225+ imprinted kapros and you'll see. Given enough health and time, kapros can annihilate creatures that sarcos might have difficulties with. Also they're fun to play. And spam lunging in the ocean actually can make it as fast as a sarco.

A good tame for both The Island and Scorched Earth. They are good for the Swamp Cave in The Island and they are everywhere on Scorched Earth making them easier to tame making them a good tame on both The Island and Scorched Earth.

When encountering a swarm you litterily have to ride your ptera or whisile your tank creatures to avoid them

Multiple uses:

land travel use is comparable to a frog, faster in some cases on flat land (takes some getting used to), surprisingly it is also immune to bolas, and can only be picked by a tuso nothing else 👍 stamina levels go a long way.

Pvp, although squishy with low health, it’s ability to pick people means it’s an alternative to a blood stalker somewhat.

Kapro running, similar with deinonychus, the kapro can leap into a turret wall through a crouch, but unlike deinonychus, you can pick someone mid flight to yeet into the turret wall with you, can can also shoot off it’s back.

It’s a shockingly overlooked tame, so many possible uses for pvp.

Oh my god I remember mid game ark... I was on my pt going around the swamp because I was low on stam... and lag happened and I flew straight into the water so it dismount me then 2 kapros jumped at me and I died.... I couldn't find my stuff but I got my pt back....

But it did cost me a dino

While I was trying to tame one, it was holding a dilo for meatshield (and blocked my tranq arrows)

I was hunting sarco, and out of nowhere this guy(lvl 2) grab me from my argie, we fly prety far. I was in his mouth and I knocked him with fists, feed him and now he is my pet.

I could be on my wolf and they take me in there mouthes they aren’t strong but they steal my whole existence

I was going to get my died cops in redwoods I was going on my level 123 breeded raptor i have kill 8 rex with him and kaprosuchus kidnapped my raptor and killed him I am very shocked to see he was only level 1 R.I.P my raptor
