They are hard to bola and even harder to shoot while in the air, so wait for them to land before trying anything. Once it’s on the ground you can bola it, and tranq it. If you don’t want to tame them and they are being annoying little buggers, you can just bola and kill ^^

Annoying little b*ggers but can have their uses. If you have them on your shoulder and you enable hunt, they will gather fish, but they fish they gather will turn into lovely gorgeous prime fish. Fabulous ;)

Well, it's usual to tame it with a crapload of Raw Prime Fish Meat, but I personally use Pegomastax Kibble. Twice as fast. Finally a use for Pegos that have nothing to do with farming!!!!!

Never tame with a tranq arrow, despite the bow, you’re probably going to kill it no matter what. I found a really nice high level and two shots of the arrow killed it. AVOID HEAD SHOTS ESPECIALLY. Also wait longer than usual between each hit. They’re feisty but squishy.

When they’re sitting on the ground quickly sneak up and bola it and take it from there.

If it sees you, goodluck. Prepare to get robbed and killed.

Tamed a level 100 and it took 2 hours with regular fish meat. It also took 3 tran arrows to the body with primitive crossbow. Make sure to have a berry picker with you for narcoberries because I used over 1000 narcos to keep it knocked out in the process. But if any of you are wondering if you still get prime from these fellas...yes you do :)

Me and my friend have an ark world and I wanted a shoulder riding so we tried taming a hespi but we failed then a dimorphodon landed we tamed him and called him Dave but now my friend wanted an ichthy so we tried taming one it was hard but in the end we bolad one. It was low lvl so I was gonna punch it but before I could my friend shot it with tranq arrows from a CROSSBOW and killed it so now we need to find a new ichthy to tame. R.I.P the ichthy who didn't have a name and wasn't even tamed

They do seem to have a headshot modifier, aim for the body with tranq darts to avoid killing higher levels

This is kind of expensive but slingshot or tranq to get attention then bola it when it dives at you like so people see it

Don’t use crossbow with tranq arrows cuz it’ll die in one shot

One of my personal favorite tames. They're extremely fun to use, and extremely useful for killing fish then using a sickle to harvest raw prime meat from them, and use the meat to tame carnivores much faster. For something really fun, tame at least 12 or so and put them all on aggressive! Also, tranq arrows are much easier than bolas, I suggest using them.

You will kill it with a long bow at low levels around 16 even though it says you won't

These little shits are pretty annoying to tame you should bring at least 30 narcotic

Tame a low lvl one then once its tamed use it to get raw prime fish meat from Coeleths and tame a higher lvl one

Super low HP, so tranq dart is best. Optimally, find it when it's walking on the beach, then KO - annoying as hell to shoot while flying with ANY server lag. Kibble-less tame is possible but you need to watch its torp. Also - it's small, so remember where it is!

When it lands bola it so it can’t fly off. Use tranq darts because arrows may kill it, but a club works for low level birds. Very slow tame with raw fish, so either make pego kibble or use prime fish, which can be gathered from a saber tooth salmon with a sickle. If you can’t get one to land, you can try to shoot it midair with the darts or the bola, but they move in odd patterns sometimes, and may fall in the water. If you kill all the fish near it it will decide to land. After you get your first, prime fish will come easy for the higher level ones.
