Best way to tame a whole pack: make a normal ramp trap, but add FIVE extra foundations in a line away from the main body of the trap separated by a double door. At the end of the foundation tunnel, put another double door and a ceiling with a hatchframe surrounded by walls, the one at the end should be a single door. Make sure the ground is level enough for you to get under this.

Lure the pack into the trap (either by aggro-ing a 3+ member pack or using honey) and get the alpha to follow you down the corridor and lock it in the hatchframe room. It is now far enough away that the rest of the pack won't register as too close to it to tame. They are SO much more chill like this, you can just stand in their face and pet them, seriously. Tame any packmembers that catch your eye, then kill the rest.

Now the alpha is alone and tameable, but also far more jumpy. Crawl under the hatchframe and carefully pet it through the floor. It CAN still sense you if you're in the open part of the hatchframe, so stick to the edges and touch those tootsies when they stick through. And boom, entire pack is yours. Put some meat packs on them, breed them to see the cutest babies in the game and enjoy!

Hands down one of if not the best hunting dog in ark. Cheap to armor, pack bonus, heals when harvesting corpses, and most importantly they are treated as man sized for Dino colishion so even raptors don’t get stuck on them. High lvl pack can down deathworms and alpha Rex BUT require a anchor or the Rex will spin and do massive trample damage.

If in a pack of 7 there unstoppable !!

When killing alphas bring this on your argie or quetz and put it faraway in a safe place. Then when you kill the alpha put all the prime meat into the hyeanodon and go home with it so you have prime meat than hasn’t spoiled

Basically tame a male and one to two females then breed them like crazy to make a full pack just be reminded when breading have walls 2 hi for some reason they glitch above the walls

I like to get a pack of them and go hunting on the beach well I did that when I was new but they are also good for a cave run

They give a good amount of xp when killed for how weak they are ride on your pets to get them xp also if they start running away that means you can easly kill them on the other hand if they start running towards you that means you may be to weak to defeat them.

I'm surprised more people haven't tested these little guys. Last time I played was in 2018 and at that time I could take 8 breed doggies with a yuti and I could take out gigas with them.. the meat pack I had was only journeyman too.. never got around to trying them on bosses. Underestimated tame.

I use these guys to transfer 300 slot meat caps wherever i want they hold it and still run 100mph

I wasn't too interested in these, until I tamed my dog squad that is! Now Growl, Sniff, Cackle, Savage and my Direwolf, Alpha are the deadliest pack on the island! We've taken down a therizino without a single death! I haven't yet tested them against any carnivores except dilos but they can be brilliant fully recommend them! My pack of four hyaenodons and my Direwolf mount easily fight dangerous creatures so a pack of four seems quite good. And if bred a bit they could be deadly! One of the best tames ever(only behind the bloodstalker and rock drake)🐕🐩🐶😈

Get six of the level up health melee damage and speed then you have the ultimate killing machine
