Do NOT make trap high three walls just make it one wall high and then put sloped roof on top of it so they cant jump out

Always stay crouched while taming. And never get close enough to touch it. While following the Hyaenodon, if the Hyaenodon ever stops, its very likely it will turn and start to walk in a different direction; so be aware that it might walk in your direction. Then back straight up... over and over again... and eventually you’ll tame one. Hope this helps. :)

If you can try and to lead them to a deep place of water since they will swim above the water and then just pet them from underneath you will be able to tame more too because the are unable to swim fast

It's a passive tame just creep up on one that's alone and it'll give you to pet it and once per enough it's yours if you want to ensure the tame get ghile armor

Full ghille, kill off all dinos around the hyena you want. Dont need trap.

Just patiently crouch 100% of the time!!!

It'll stop, it'll turn so be prepared to turn with it staying behind it.

Don't be over eager to get too close an pet, every 2nd time they stop, wait for them to turn an then pet.

Pet then back off a good distance immediately.

Cactus broth helps but not needed.bit will help keep other wild dinos away better.

When taming, stay crouched and behind it the whole time. Pet it them back off, count down from 30 in your head and repeat until they tame. MAKE SURE TO STAY BEHIND THEM AT ALL TIMES!

If something gets too close, they get scared or something and you have to start all over! Move them into a trap or something first. Spread the word so that people don’t waste their time stupidly!!!

Trap in a tent!!! You can crouch and follow while wearing ghillie and trap!! Just open the flap and stay crouched off to the side and spam the pet button!!! Works on official PvE!! I have an army!!!

It's easy enough to just kill the pack and follow the one you want to tame. Full ghilly and just stay behind it, just within reach of petting.

If you startle the hyaenodon, the taming percentage goes down so try not to startle it!

They are super fun with a bigger pack like I got 20 and they are beast get two good lev male and female or tame the whole pack! Get some dogos

I didn't have a full set of ghillie but I did have a friend and a Argent so I had my friend ride Argent and hold the dog above the ground while I went behind and pet it and now I have a level 209 doggo

Just use an argy and pick up the doggy, then let someone else pet it.

Never tranq it to calm it. It will continue to sleep for the rest of its life. Mine is sleeping since 56min, and i can't wake up with stimulants cause it's glitched and i can't acces to it's inventory. Happy 150 Hyaenodon tame failled.

I have tried for years to tame one of these dogos never had any luck n never used traps that being said i tried it ealier didnt see the thing about not going after an alpha doggo. I trapped the aplha in my mantis trap while he was trapped i run around and made sure that he was a sigma buy getting rid of his subordinates. Then i discovered even in full guillie he was still aggro went out of render would instantly aggo me so i relogged and apon relogging he was docile chill like who needs a pack the true sigma doggo i let him out and followed him giving him pets approximately 6-10 feet behind and every time hes stop roughly every 15 seconds id creep up pet the puppers the back of a couple feet note he always turn away from the side your creepin up on him from so if ya come from right rear, after pet he will turn to the left usully in about a from 12 to 10 angle and visa vera is you hugged the left but itd be 12 and 2 also im playing this on ase mobile so make note cuz this is where i always screwed this tame up when you pet its not like useing your last slot feed type option like how you pet the listro. you must open the wheel and physically select pet or i garentee nothing will happen except scaring off the poor puppers

WEAR GHILLE ARMOR IT MAKES IT EASIER TO TAME THESE GUYS

On Scorched earth you can place a tent on them, follow behind it with the tent ready to set it down, the tent will be red but let it walk to an out edge and spam the place button. Once it's inside open the door it will pop it's head out as it walks around so just crouch to the side of the opening and pet it when it does. As long as your not to close to the opening it can't detect you.

If you're on PvE like myself, you're going to need to first bola the alpha and then gate it in with 4 wooden Dino gateways and their coinciding doors. Just make a square around them. Then, wait for the other hyena's to be a far enough distance from the alpha/cage and then cage them in as well. I did each hyena individually because they spook otherwise.

A word worthy of note, Hyaenodon's WILL attack in large packs. Stick to a group of three, including the alpha.

Also worthy to note that alpha's occasionally enter some sort of rage mode and can quickly break free from bola's.

After you've got your hyena's caged, fly out of render distance to lose aggro and then fly back in and proceed with the tame.

You still need your ghillie suit and to be crouched.

These are only one time uses so make sure to demolish for resources after you're done!
