How do I tame a hyaenodon? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a hyaenodon.

Hyaenodons are passively tamed by crouching behind an isolated one while wearing camouflage armor and petting it when prompted, then backing away and repeating after it calms down. Separate it from its pack and nearby creatures—using a flyer or a secure pen if needed—and avoid startling, damaging, or approaching it from the front.
Am i REALLY the only who has tried to tame these guys about 5 times and failed it Every time because they run away??!!!!!??
When taming use a taming pen makes it 100 times easier. Try to build it on flat surface or use foundation because for some reason if the environment is elevated slitly the pet option bugs out and it will feel before u get to pet it.
