Fact: Hyaenodons in real life were actually not even related to hyenas , their closest living relatives are pangolins(which also are not related in the slightest to raccoons, anteaters, aardvarks, armadillos or hedgehogs). And real hyenas despite appearances are actually not related to dogs or wolves, in fact their closest relatives are meerkats and mongooses and meerkats and mongooses' closest other relatives are cats and civets(also known as bearcats)

They spawn at mountains that includes the redwoods mountain but not the winter ones. They can spawn alone or up to a pack of 6 and if you're by yourself they will attack you, if you're on a dino like a rex they will run away from you. The highest level hyena will also have a red and orange aura surrounding its chest which signifies that it is an alpha.

They DO exist on ARK ultimate mobile edition! (not on old ark mobile tho.)

These absolute wankers are everywhere in the mountains and if you don’t have something larger than a parasaur it’ll target you and kill you

Fortunately if you are smart like me, you head to the nearest jutting rock and run around it, they have an insane leap so they’ll most likely overshoot and get punted down the mountains

Hyenadons in a pack of 2 or less they will run away

3 hyenadons will attack if you’re wounded

A pack of 6 or more will attack no matter what and kill your level 200 raptor with 75% imprinting (found that out the hard way 😢)

When tamed they are killing machines in a pack and with a pet bonus

Hyaenodons are opprotunists, meaning if they have an opprotunity to get a quick, free meal, they'll take it. Corpses? Heck yeah. Low HP? Yup.

You can find them in the city on extinction

My most hated creature I lost a lot of potential tames to these. I hate that they are hella opportunistic, they try to attack me every time I get off my thezi, but when I get on they run. I just find the to be malevolent.
