A way to tell if your tamed hesperornis is ready to lay an egg is if it is wandering, even though you didn't turn wandering on the hesperornis.

You can look at the creature window and if it says "enable wandering or mating to mate", then it needs to harvest a few more coels or salmons until it can lay an egg.

If it is ready to lay an egg, the window will say "ready to mate", which is really helpful if you haven't been keeping track of how many fishes it has harvested.

It will also automatically turn wandering on to allow the hesperornis to pathfind to land.

"Eat the lumpy mashed potatoes you get from killing it. It's good for you."

Breed these and harvest for poly farm

Get a male and female and give them names then breed and make a goose army!

When you need organic polymer & don’t have the equipment to go into the cold for penguins, ABSOLUTELY kill these guys!

You can also turn the hesperornis to neutral and just throw it at dead coelacanths or salmons, instead of waiting for the hesperornis to do a dive attack to kill the fish and then wait for another dive attack to harvest the fish if its on aggressive, which saves much more time and usually grants you a golden egg every 5 minutes or so.

I have one of these near a pond at my base, and it's wild. You don't need to tame them for their eggs, since I think they don't go aggro when you take them.

If you eat the golden egg it gives you a XP booster like a XP note

If you’re on Valguero or another map with Deinonychus nests, those eggs are probably the easiest to come across and eggs under lvl 130 aren’t good for anything else anyway

Can use their eggs to make oil in cooker. Tame a bunch of females and a male to have a passive oil farm. Plus use a female to kill 5 fish and have a chance at getting a golden egg which you can give to yourself or your tames for an xp buff. Big creatures dont receive as much of an xp bonus. Golden eggs can be used for extraordinary kibble but I personally just use yutys for that

Maybe make them lay a Golden Egg for every 3 fish killed instead of 5?

Even though on the wiki it says its a small egg type that makes simple kibble, the regular egg will NOT make kibble. The reason for this is that if you cook the egg without the other ongredients it turns into oil. This mechanic overlaps with the new kibble system and as such, it turns into oil before if can become kibble.

This tame is not affected by game settings for some reason, I made the tame speed 99999, so insta tame basically but there not affected

The eggs produce oil in the cooker. Well worth the effort.

Females will produce Golden Eggs after killing and consuming 5 fish.

However, they are still really bad.
