A net projectile will trap a Griffin, and as long as you have two players shooting the Griffin with shocking tranq darts, you can knock these guys unconscious pretty fast.

you can use arrows instead of darts if you have it in a trap! drag a corpse to the griffin once it gets low; it'll eat the corpse while trying to attack the trap and regain all its health so you can keep firing. cheaper than making a bunch of darts.

would recommend bringing a snow owl to help tame one of these. griffins have high torpor, but low health, and can get dangerously close to dying while you're trying to knock it out. a tamed snow owl can help heal a wild griffin.

warning: if you're playing on ragnarok, make sure you don't go too far from it, and come prepared with some kibble or mutton, i was taming one in the canyon part, then i realized i needed some narcotics (btw my base was on the other side of the map),, long story short i went to my base and got the sleeping medicine, and when i get back thanks to the tracker, and as soon as i get there the griffin was inside the ground,then i decided to be stupid and dismount my flying creature and get killed by a sarco and the alpha raptor that was behind him, AGAIN make sure you come prepared and with food so you don't suffer the same i did

These things are GODS when trying to get somewhere fast in Ragnarok just fly high up and put some points in stamina and dive bomb down then pull up and you turn into the flash

make sure to level up stamina, especially if youre thinking about stealing some wyvern eggs. remember to be careful in the wyvern trench!

I tamed one of theses without a trap but it took ages even though it was only lvl 10 , definitely use a trap

For a trap go look up Captain Fatdog on YouTube, it’s a really cheap trap and it works!

They take allo kibble, so make sure to bring some or your feeding them a lot of prime meat

Use desmodus and shot fro back of it i have tamed 5 griffins using this method

It's a simple tame all you need is 3 WOODEN Gateways and two doors lead it in then you got a griffin.

Dive straight down then pull up near to the ground for a truly insane speed boost

Two people can ride and both can equip tools/guns while riding and can dive for help during combat too. These winged beasts sadly can't be bred because they don't have genders, much like the rock elementals. And you're going going to have a very hard time knocking one out considering they fly fast and have decent attack, but will most likely be worth it. Probably going to have to move to Ragnarok because of these things.

They are now officially breedable in ASA !

1. Get high melee Mantis.

2. Get Ascendant wooden club.

3. Wait for griffin to land. High level only. Low leveled ones will die.

4. Sneak up and knock it the heck out.

Definetly top 3 Strongest fliers in the game so its a must have, Get a Pterandon (Or argy but there more valubale in my opinion so I use pterandon) and pick your tribesmate or the other way around and get it to chase you as you shoot it with good knockouts (shock tranqs) cus these things will kill you both or die first so be fast once you knock it out build a fence around it seeing as they are rare-ish so nothing kills it and if your on a pvp server protect this thing if on a beach or open feild chances are someone will end the things life.

DO NOT use tranq arrows WITHOUT a trap... I tried that and they ran away across the darn map.

WARNING: if you lag on a server you might clip the ground and not know it and the next time you land your griffin will take infinite fall damage and die. Sometimes you don’t even have to land and your griffin will die mid air. There is no way to prevent this just remember to carry parachutes.
