These aren’t as hard as it seems. Here’s how to tame them. Use 4 metal gateways, 1 large bear trap. Lure the Giga into the trap (3 gateways in a U formation with the trap in the center, once trapped add the last gateway. Load it up with tranqs, I use arrows. Once knocked use whatever, but be careful of that horrible torpidity drop and bam you have one of the best creatures. I hope you enjoyed- TGIB

In my personal experience the easiest way to tame one of these is to take an argentavis and fly it not to close to giga get its aggro then fly up on a high ledge where the giga can't reach you and tranq it (I am on xbox so it may not work as well on PC)

Find a hard time with metal gates.Try stone behemoth gates instead but they usually need gate doors too..Just tame a dodic and Beaver...And one bear trap as usual.Trap it and start knocking it down...Use compound bow and Toxiciant arrows to get results faster than Tranq arrows.

I’ve been playing this game for about six months bc my bf kept begging me to try it. Today, I tamed my first ever giga, on my own from the back of my poison dragon. I was lucky because I managed to get the giga stuck between some rocks and I just kept shooting at it. And never forget to bring narcotics with you, the giga’s torpor drops really really fast. I also found the unicorn and tamed 3 rexes, all in one day

Get Tapejara fly over it, shoot once and lure it to steep mountain sides and shoot, tame.

these things are annoying to trap because their AI has a IQ of 21.

If you want a good and safe trap then go to captainfatdog on YT for a trap

When using a trap make SURE YOU ARE ON FLAT GROUND IF YOU DONT YOU AND YOUR BIRD WILL DIE EASILY

Honestly everyone prolly knows this already but for those who don’t, use small metal gates and a few large bear traps. U will need about five to six gateways and at least three large bear traps. Place the first gate however you want it, the n place two more on either side of the first one diagonally.

Make sure you connect them. Place the bear traps inside the formation of gateways. Take note that you can extend the length of the two sides if you want.

Then lure the giga into the trap by going around to the front side and let him follow you into the opening so it will get stuck on the bear traps. Try not to get yourself stuck though. Then go to the back where the opening is and seal off the opening with the remaining gateways. The extra bear traps are if you can’t make it to the back to seal the trap off in time before he gets free. Another note: you cannot do this on a hill. It is very hard. Try to to this on flat ground.

go to far's peak to find one I tamed a male one there (btw do a genocide of all the things in the area before leading to ur trap) then after a long time a female one spawned there too and I tamed it

If you can find one on the north east snow mountain I recommend bringing ~ 210 shocking darts and ~ 100 tranq arrows. I had to trap him using 3 behemoth Dino stone gates, but it only took ~60 min. Bring friends if possible

This is the second most fearsome dino in ark, with the first being the dodo

The amount of darts needed to bring one down is too low, at least if you are bringing one down solo. I pumped 600 tranq darts into a lvl 154 a's fast as 5 long neck rifles would allow. Didn't go down. What a waste of time.

Tamed one today, here what you will need

100 narcoric-More depending on level (check dododex)

4 normal metal dino gateways (Metal behemoth gates work to but normal metal gates are cheaper it will just take longer time to trap. And large bear trap.

Exceptional kibble

Lota of tranqs 300 or more

Steps

Make a u shape out of the gateways but dont perfectly connect them, give a bit of space on the edges. Also only place 3. And inside put a large bear trap.

Lure giga in (i recomend with flier) it will take a couple attempts.

once it in the giga will be stuck for ten seconds. Quickly as possible place the fourth one so its stuck but try to be careful to it could manuever out, if it does, on singleplayer cloae the game it will load a previous save. ( Hopefully not to far back) and try again. Once trapped tranq until asleep and wait for it to reach 1k or 2k torpor and feed it ALL of your narcotics available. And put the kibble in its inventory and leterr eat. You should now have tamed giga.

HOW TO TAME A GIGA

1) Find a giga they usually spawn near mountains btw

2)trap the giga with 4 metal gates and a bear trap by first placing 3 of the gates and the trap in the middle once the giga gets stuck place the fourth

3)DESTROY the gigas face with tranqs preferably from an ascendant longneck or ascendant crossbow

4)shove food up its mouth and wait until ur mum is 9000 years old make sure u also shove narcotics up its mouth as well

5) after ur mum is 9000 years old u will have a giga which u probably won’t even be able to use until ur dad returns with the milk

U NOW OWN A GIGA

On a mountain I found one and I use ascendant compound bow it took 49 to knock out and it got stuck in the mountains arch so I go lucky but my pt died and I didn’t get to tame it bc I didn’t know I would come across one so I wasn’t prepared and I was so sad

Is there a certain spot where the gigas can’t hit you or you have to hit them I was shooting mine with a bunch of tranquilizer arrows in a sentence bow and it was getting no tranquility I don’t really understand this how does it work it took me six months to get one to spawn please reply if you know how to get one to fall asleep

trust me, bring alot of narcotic if you're coming for a level 150.
