I went to a mountain on the island to get metal, crystal and obsidian and maybe an argentavis as well. A few minutes later, I saw a tail wagging at the top of the mountain and I said,”I’m pretty sure that’s a Rex right?” “Yeah that’s a Rex I’ll be fine.” Turns out it was a giga so when I realized, I sprinted down the mountain and proceeded to scream so loud, that my dad came stomping up the stairs. LOL.

While a absolute BEAST of a tame, the giga has some factors you have to consider.

1. Enraging. The giga will enrage and attack EVERYTHING if it enraged. Its eyes will turn a luminous yellow colour and it will be angry.

2. Feeding. The giga will enrage (see above) if there is no meat available too it, whether in a trough or in its inventory. This will stop once it has acquired enough meat to keep its hunger away. (This does not apply to babies. They will just starve)

3. Imprinting. If you have a giga, breed it and get 100 percent imprint. If you don't, the giga will enrage permanently until death when its health drops below a certain amount. (I think 40 percent).

4. Using your giga. These things have a nasty bite and would be perfect for pvp except for the fact you have to factor in the above and that you are a sitting duck for any sniper while mounted. Besides that, it is perfect for pvp.

Hope this helps. But remember, these things can still be countered with varying difficulty.

Do not use Raw meat!!!!!!!!!! Use it's preferred kibble or raw prime meat, if you give it raw meat it melee damage will be terrible taming effect is very low..... so if you want a good Giga I suggest using prime meat raw mutton or exceptional kibble.

How to kill a giga:

You don’t

Meeting one of these unprepared in the wild, you're gonna want to follow these steps;

1)Crouch, get as low to the ground as possible

2)Look down, head between the legs

3)Kiss your assistance goodbye

Very very dangerous. Had a level 230 giga and I thought I could take on a wild level 180 giga. Sad to say I lost everything and no longer have Pedro the Giga

These are very usefull on all maps, including scorched earth as high levels can kill rock golems very easily. Very useful when having noobs on PVE lure golems to your adobe barn.😐

Do you want to tame this huge dinosaur? Well, I have just the taming guide for you! There are 2 sections: Mobile Taming and PC Taming. Since PC Taming is more popular, I’ll start with that first;

REQUIREMENTS:

Ascendant Crossbow/Rifle, Tranq Ammo, 1 or 2 LARGE Bear Traps, Bio Toxin (Quantity Depends On Level), and 4 Metal Gateways. You’ll also need lots of Kibble!

FIND YOUR GIGA:

Get on an Argy and find your Giga. Make sure the Giga is a decent level!

SET UP TRAP:

Place 3 Metal Gateways in a box formation like this; \_/. However, don’t place it tilting outwards, unlike that of what is shown in the picture. Just make it a perfect box with an opening. Make sure to leave gaps between the Gateways so the Giga fits through! Leave a bear trap or 2 in the middle to immobilize the Giga.

LURE THE GIGA:

Shoot the Giga and immediately get on your Argy. Try to lead the Giga into the trap. Once it is trapped, place the final Gateway in the opening so that the Giga does not escape.

KNOCKOUT:

Use the weapon of choice and prepare to knock out the Giga. You will need tons of Tranq Ammo for this, so make sure to bring a lot! Shoot every 3 seconds or so. IMPORTANT: Do not miss shots while knocking out the Giga!

TAMING THE GIGA:

Get your absurd amount of Kibbles and Toxins and start taming! Do not leave your tame unmonitored, as the Giga drains torpor way faster than the Therizino or Rex. Have a tribemate to help guard the Giga if you have one available.

I hope this version helped a lot of people! Now let’s see how to tame a Giga on Mobile. I promise this version is very straightforward;

DISCLAIMER: The way I tame Mobile Gigas is very specific, so if you want a more general way to tame one, seek a friend to help you.

REQUIREMENTS:

Soothing Balm, 1-2 Behemoth Dinosaur Gateway set, 75 Bio Toxin or larger, Ascendant Crossbow/Rifle, and Tranq Ammo. You’ll also need Quetzal Kibble (at least 2), so consider making lots of jerky before taming!

FIND YOUR GIGA:

Find a Giga near the snow mountains.

LURE THE GIGA:

Get on an Argy and carry prey. Wild Gigas will not agro on mounted creatures. They will also not accidentally attack your tame either, since they only attack the prey that your Argy is holding. But they will attack and kill your Argy if you do attack them or agro them! I have confirmed this, try it yourself! Lead it to a cliff or mountain, which will be used as the other walls of the trap! If you feel like the Giga will just climb the cliff or go onto the sides of the mountain, you’re probably right. Leave the prey onto a ledge so the Giga does not leave!

TRAP THE GIGA:

Place the Behemoth Gateway(s) and Gate(s) to trap the Giga. Do not unmount your Argy while doing this, or else it will agro on you! At this point, the prey may have fallen down or the Giga has left. Make sure to place them quick!

KNOCKOUT:

If you can’t shoot the Giga on the ledge you are on, build a platform with thatch. Make sure to knock out the Giga quick, or else it will break the Gate!

TAME THE GIGA:

Use the Soothing Balm and Quetzal Kibble. Use Bio Toxin as well. If you use a mountain and it is too slippery, place a structure! I almost lost my Giga to this.

It’s Big So if you see one remember It’s Big

Sit on quetzal platform saddle just above giga’s hit box And shoot. Then eat rare flowers. It will be enraged at you and won’t run away or get distracted even if it is about to be knocked out.

They have a blind spot. Just grapple to their thigh and shoot it full of tranq darts. WARNING YOU MAY BE HIT A FEW TIMES.

You can also kill Gigas like this.

REMEMBER FELLOW CAVEMEN!

Gigas see movement! So it will take longer for it to see it

After it sees u run or you’re toast

If you encounter a giga,go to your Save Data below it and delete your main save after you save it beforehand then refresh

In mobile, only one or two gigas can spawn.

WARN!

When gigas take a certain amount of damage or lose a certain amount of health in a short period of time, they become enraged and kill everything in its path, even its allies.

ANALYZE

Gigas can enrage, when enraged they are uncontrollable and you cannot ride them. They will attack any nearby creature, in its sight, AKA KOS, Kill On Sight. Luckily this only lasts 20 seconds. If a giga loses 45% of health out of 80,000 or a tamed giga has 7-5k out of 17k then it rages. The giga will become enraged if it falls a large distance, gets a powerful attack by another Dino, or alpha king stomp, it goes mad.

Possible solution..?

when riding your giga, make sure to have a cryopod of a fast tame, or just have it following you like gallimimus, when the giga rages or is about to rage it should kick you off, and/or you have to hop off and uncryo the tame (it is recommended to have it follow you since cryo sickness is a thing. Cryo sickness is similar to having a Dino knocked out and it has to wake up by itself) hop on the game and run! When the giga rages it should have a red skull. Enjoy playing ark and stay safe! I recommend to do these steps if you encounter one.

Killing:

-get flying creature

-Agro giga

-Fly above water

-watch it drowned

-realize you can’t get it because of stupid sea animals

Taming:

-become the flash

-make a trap

-trap it

-spend 1000 hours shooting tranqs

-get more weapons cuz yours broke

-knock it out

-feed it 1000 nacros

-feed it prime meat and hope they don’t spoil

-or use kibble

-tame it

-use it to kill other giga’s

-realize u messed up
