Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a giant bee? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a giant bee.
After you tamed a Bee Queen with kibble or flowers, you can take it with „E“ and get a Bee Hive.
Pro Tip:
You can also Cryo the Tamed Bee Queen and put it in your Base as Decoration :D
Bssss Bssss ...
If you are on Abberation taming these could be a bit easier because you can easily get rare flowers from the biome with ALOT of metal. Aka the blue biome.
If you hit the hive with a club the worker bees wont come out
Barrel roll the hive with a pteranodon does a lot of damage and you don't have to use any ammo but be careful for the drones because they will knock you off your mount
When on the hunt for taming a queen, note that not all hives will have a queen bee inside. If you attack a hive and workers begin to swarm, you've found the queen. If not, try another hive or kill off the empty ones for more potential tames to spawn.
They will sting you and you will dismount and the hert
Gigas NO LONGER DAMAGE HIVES. People have complained about this for years without an official response, but I can confirm that Giga bites do not affect hives in any way. Actually kind of annoyed, it really doesn't make any sense.
PC players on Lost Island- I’ve read that finding queens can be nearly impossible but I’ve consistently found queens each time I bust a hive in a specific easy to find location so thought I’d share.
1. Go to redwoods castle (that island encircled by a river in the SE center ish of the map)
2. From there fly out from the castle in the direction of the bridge that leads to the redwoods surrounding the castle.
3. Fly away from the bridge direction a bit to the right towards the opening in the trees you’ll see but then after entering that cleft in the trees, turn hard left off that clearing to follow the cliff face that’s behind the first row of trees that are by the water edge.
4. Shortly you will come to a gouge in the cliff with a convenient place to land on a sort of natural ramp looking formation, and either side of that where the cliff recedes up the natural stone ramp you landed on, there are some spawn points for hives. They can be easily reached while riding a bear, but you may need to build a small ramp using a few pillars, foundations, ramps, and ceiling tile since bears can’t jump. Sometimes I’ve found two hives at once there. I haven’t managed to tame the queen yet but every time I’ve found a hive there and broke it with my bear it has a queen. PS if you have a sinomacrops on your shoulder pet turn the scream off or it will scare away and even kill the queen >_< RIP second bee queen.
Enjoy
Get ghille and bug repellent and use a rocket to destroy the best in one hit also have a good melee weapon with you
They spawn on Redwood trees, always lvl 5, break the hive with a flyer, the queen should drop on the ground, bring ghillie + bug repellant, you need 2 ichty kibbles or 5 flowers, the queen seems passive but the bees will attack you. Once tamed you can convert the queen into a hive (structure) it produce 1 honey pot per hour (not sure)
If you have a snow owl, use the thermal vision ability to see where the bee hives are.
Just bring a good trike and stand back and whistle attack target on the bee hive, the trike will kill any bees that come out, once it breaks whistle neutral so any bees that attack you will get killed then tame the queen
If you're pkaying mobile version,on the island map(I'm still at it so idk abt other maps),u can the engram "Giant Bee Hive",made with Chitin,Tatch and Sap.U can't place it on the natural ground or atificial ground though. So make a giant tree platform,go to Redwoods, place ur platform and then place ur hive on it and give it rare flowers to get honey.
Upsides are that there are no thylas in mobile that could harm it(or not since some dinos won't give a sh!t abt ur structures)and u don't get attacked by bees on collecting ur honey
Downside(or no) is that it's a midgame engram and could be a pain in the @ss at times u need it in the early game
Once tamed you will be able to pick up the bee and it will add a hive to your inventory. You can then place it at your base. Keep in mind you will need to put rare flowers inside the beehive in order to keep it alive and producing honey.
Genesis. Found in the Bog on the giant tree dripping blue/green glowing sap. A blood stalker to climb up and building an enclosed trap around the hive does the trick.
On primitive plus use the battle axe. Works wonders. When feeding the bee, don't touch her. That will cause the drones to attack. And as always, ghillie up and use bug spray.
Use a pteranodon....and Use its spin attack.. Now the behive will ne destroyed... After the queen bee summons, use the honey u got from destroing the hive, to tame the queen. Best Luck ;)
Only certain hives carry a queen walk up to it if you attack and bees swarm you know theres a queen. Destroyed 6 hives before i figured this out.
In the red woods breaking hives i found the best way was ranged attacks off a megatherium (only alpahas and dire bears will attack you that I've found) kill any drones that attack then chase Queen when she appears.
Tame the Queen with a Sinomicrops on your shoulders. Make sure it’s on neutral. It will kill all the giant bees stinging you and give you a path to tame the Queen with Kibble
