To easy tame high levels early game, find a hawk, then lead it into a wooden box pen, and start breeding any dino with a reasonably low hatching/gestation period and reasonably high harvest health after it's death, then raise and sacrifice the offspring to the birds.

The secret here is DON’T TRY TO BRUTE FORCE IT! Bring about 20 ovis, locate one hawk you want to tame and lure it away (I go to the snow if you follow the river down), kill off any other hawks that come with it and just start slaughtering the Ovis. If you own a desmo use it’s elixir to get a head start on taming. Do not hit the hawk or it will reset the tame bar.

Also, higher health ovis give more taming, and it doesn’t appear that higher level fjordhawks actually take longer to tame.

It seems taming doesn't increase if it eats while you're mounted on a creature, so if you're using a creature to get kills be sure to dismount before it starts eating

If you can’t tame a rock elemental then go and find some ovis and use them. The Fjordhawk will instantly tame up and not drop in taming effectiveness. It’s the best I’ve found in testing. Still can’t 100% tame though

From my experience it will not eat insects or bugs when being tamed.

Fjordhawks are somewhat a little hard to tame according to me. You have to kill things for the progress bar to get up higher. You cannot be on a mount while completing this process.

Build a sealed trap dino gates on each end. Double doors along sides. Walk around on giga killing things... Walk to trap. A flock will follow you around. Lure the one you want into trap. Throw out ovis...kill... rinse repeat till tamed.

Best method I have found. Takes about 4 or 5 ovis for high level on 3x

Penguins are excellent for taming one of these guys, if you can get near an area with a bunch of penguins, you can totally tame one early game

FJHawk will not recover your bag if it contains a artifact. Carry a artifact when taming and you won’t lose your inventory if you die. Share this tip

Use an max level Ovis to tame a bunch of them

A Dino can be used to kill wild animals however whilst the hawk eats if you are on a mount it will not gain any taming. You need to kill wild animals then before it eats jump off mount for it to tame

You have to kill the creatures yourself. You can’t do it while riding a Dino

Have a friend join you, kill your friend over and over again (make sure their inventory in empty), feed to hawk I told me about 30m but it works

I tried using rexes and it didn’t work I killed them with Shotgun and pike didn’t work they just ignore it they were tamed rexes

Honestly just go to the forest where these guys are and kill something, then step back and wait for the hawks to come. They will come if they are nearby. Repeat process in different areas until you’ve got one! I have many now.

Tame a pair of Ovis and breed baby ovis. Pump pathing but health in it. This will give you more taming %. It does not need to be healed.

Be advised! I’m currently experiencing a taming bug that’s preventing progression. I fed one hawk about 30 ovis and it never even started the tame.

For taming a Fjordhawk, I tamed a Rock Elemental as no regular creature can harvest is letting you tame an infinite amount so as long as the body doesn't spoil.
